Unit 5 why do you like pandas Period1 (1a-1c)说课稿
Good afternoon , everyone. I’m Ye Yian. I’m from Qing Jiang Middle School. Now I’ll say section A (from 1a to 1c ) of Unit5.It’s from Grade7(II) in Go For It! The title is “why do you like pandas ”. I’ll say the lesson from six parts: they are Analysis of the teaching material、Analysis of the students、Teaching methods、Studying ways、Teaching procedure、Blackboard designing.
Now i will explain one by one..
Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material
One : Status and function
The main topic of Unit 5 is to describe animals and express preferences. In this unit, the Ss will learn to talk about kinds of animals that they like, why do you like it . This is a topic that is related to their daily life. So it can raise their learning interests and improve their spoken English.
Two: Teaching aims
1、Knowledge aims
2、Ability aims
To talk about their favorite animals and give reasons masterly.
3. Moral object
(1)To train students’sense of loving and protecting animals
(2) To train the students’ ability of working in pairs.
(3)Through different teaching methods to make students be interested in study.
Three: Important and difficult points
1、Important points
The words of animals and description words
2、Difficult points.
(1) Words and its pronunciation;
(2) Through using “why... and because…” to make sentences .
Part 2 Analysis of the students
In the topic, there are some advantages for the students .First: they are quite familiar with some of the animals ,such as cat, dog, sheep ,cow… ect . So I think I can lead my students to study today ‘s topic naturally .Second: some adjectives used to describe the animals such as interesting, clever are easy for the students to learn. Third : many students show great interest in animals .But .there are also some disadvantages for the students. They don’t know some animals, because they haven’t seen or heard them from the text, such as koala. Besides some words are hard to pronounce, such as giraffe. So during my teaching , I will help the students overcome the difficulties and let them learn the language goals fully.
Part 3 Teaching methods
In this lesson, I’ll mainly use the “task-based” teaching method, and it will be used in the whole lesson. I think it’s helpful to develop the Ss’ thought. I’ll also use “situation communicating” method. It can provide enough listening and speaking situations for Ss.
Part 4 Studying ways
1、Preview method.(the purpose is to let Ss learn and memorize words, also let them know sentences of this class)
2、the team work and pair-discussion ( the purpose is to develop the spirit of cooperation and competition、improve Ss’ interest in English)
3、Game (the purpose is to help Ss consolidate the knowledge of this lesson )
Part 5 Teaching procedure
Step1 lead-in
Ask Ss some questions: Do you like animals How many animals do you know Where can you see these animals To draw the topic of zoo。(the purpose is to arouse Ss’ interest and prepare for new content)
Step2 Get familiar with the animals
1、Guessing animals through picture to present new words. And using the sentence of “what do you think of …” to draw some adjectives
2、then through reading words 、guessing words through pictures、match-work and doing listening exercise in 1b (the purpose is to let Ss know what they are and train their listening skills)
Step3 Visit the zoo
First , teacher make a situation of being in a zoo, then ask students “what animals do you want to see first ”to draw a conversation in 1c.
Second, teach students read conversation and practice conversation in pairs.
Last, make a situation that if your friends and you are in a zoo ,let Ss practice conversation in pairs.( the purpose is to train Ss’ability of using language goal)
Step 4 Talk about your favorite animals with some adjectives
Let four students in a group to make a survey that what animals they like best and why , then choose one students to report their surveys.( the purpose is to train Ss’ ability of cooperation and communication、speaking、 writing ).
Step 5 Play games (who am I )
1、Teacher give some description words of animals ,let Ss guess what animal is it
2、Rules: Divide Ss into four groups, which group guess it first, and the group will get a star;Which group gets the most stars , the group will win. Remember, you can rush to answer
( the purpose is to consolidate what they have learned and develop their spirit of competition ).
Step 6 Summary
1、words about animals;
2、how to describe animals with description words;
3、how to use “why” to ask for reasons and its answers.
Step7 Homework
Write a conversation about visiting the zoo. (the purpose is to consolidate what they have learned in this lesson)
