Organizing your ideas
An article is often made up of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion. However, we can organize our ideas in different ways according to the type of writing. 我们可以根据写作类型用不同的方式组织我们的想法
Different types of writing
Time order
We use this method when we write about an experience or an event.
可用时间顺序来描述一次经历或一个事件
Topic: A trip to Nanjing
First, .... Next, ....
Then, .... Finally, ....
A. Description(描写文) B. Narration(记叙文)
C. Exposition(说明文) D. Argumentation(议论文)
Space order
We use this method when we describe a place or an object.
可用时间顺序来描述一次经历或一个事件
Topic: My bedroom

General to specific
When we use this method, we give a general statement first, and then use specific information to support the main idea. 先给出一个全面的观点,再用具体事实来支撑这个主要思想
Topic: Travelling
Travelling is fun.
We see different people and sights. We learn about different cultures. Travelling helps our mind relax. Travelling helps us keep fit.

Specific to general
We use this method when we want to use some specific examples to lead to our main ideas. 用具体实例来论证观点
Topic: Environment
The sky is not as blue as before.
The water is not clean any more. The weather
changes often. We have more bad weather.
Our environment is getting worse.
We need to take action to protect it.

Conclusion
(1) Time order: 常用于叙述经历或事件,可以用first、next、then和finally把细节连接起来。
(2) Space order: 常用于描述一个地方或一件物品。
(3) General to specific: 先提出观点,再用具体实例来支撑观点。
(4) Specific to general: 先陈述事实、列举实例,再陈述观点。(与G-S相反)
