When
HAMLET meets PEKING OPERA
Do you know anything about Hamlet
Prince Hamlet is a fictional character, the leading role in Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet. He is the Prince of Denmark, nephew to the usurping Claudius and son of the previous King of Denmark, Old Hamlet.
Throughout the play he struggles with whether, and how, to avenge the murder of his father, and struggles with his own sanity along the way. By the end of the tragedy, Hamlet has caused the deaths of Polonius, Laertes, Claudius and his two childhood friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.
He is also indirectly involved in the deaths of his love Ophelia (drowning) and of his mother Gertrude (poisoned by mistake). Hamlet himself is the final character to die in the play.

How to enjoy Peking Opera
Stage: a table ,two chairs. (called “yi zhuo er yi”).
Time&Place: decided by the performer’s movement. We can imagine the time, the place and the situation according to the performer’s movement, speaking and singing.
Four characters：sheng,dan,jing and chou. Sheng includes laosheng,wusheng, xiaosheng and hongsheng. Dan includes zhengdan, huadan, wudan, laodan and caidan.Jing includes zhengjing, fujing and wujing. Chou has wenchou and wu chou, etc.
How to enjoy Peking Opera:We can enjoy listening to the instruments and drums, watching the performer’s wonderful wushu, lifelike performance and his long long sound (tuochang).
