Teaching aims
学完本课后,学生应能:

2. 在谈论对科目的喜好:What’s your favorite subject?基础上,知道询问理由:Why do you like…?
3. 熟练运用because 说出喜好和不喜爱的理由。
4. 进一步巩固who的用法,询问谁是你的老师。
5. 能熟读2d的对话,并有感情的进行角色表演。
5. 运用以上知识,自由和小组成员谈论最喜爱的科目以及理由。

Teaching and learning procedures
Step 1. Warming – up (preparation)
Ask some students to say what her or his favorite subject is. eg, What’s
your favorite subject?
S: My favorite subject is math. T asks the second student “What’s her
favorite subject?”
S: Her favorite subject is math. T: What about you? …
More questions:
T: As you know, my favorite subject is English? Why do I like it? Because it’s fun
and attractive.
And each of you has a favorite subject. Why do you like it? Let’s discuss
it together.
Step 2 Presentation& Practice
Presentation 1
Describing subjects
Why do I like English? Help answer “ Because it’s interesting.” Ask more students about their favorite subjects and ask them why. While saying the sentences, learning the adjectives: fun, interesting, relaxing. And ask why they don’t like the subjects. Teach the words: difficult, boring.
Practice 1
Listening (2a)
Ask Ss to look at the picture, guess what they are talking about. Ask Ss to read the sentences together. Then play the recording, ask Ss to listen for the first time. Then play it again, ask Ss to listen and put the conversation in order.
Ask Ss to practice their own conversation in pairs.
Listening(2b)
First ask Ss to read each word together. Play the recording for the Ss to listen. Then ask Ss to listen again and match the subjects with the descriptions.
Then ask Ss to talk about the subjects they like or dislike, and say the reasons. (2c)
Presentation 2
Guessing game
Ask Ss to guess if he or she likes the subject. Ask one student to help you. Show the cards you have prepared. One side is about the subject, Show it to all of the Ss. The other side is about the description . Only show it to the student who stands in front of the class. Ask Ss what her favorite subject is and why. Ask Ss to guess with the adjectives they’ve learnt . eg. fun, exciting, relaxing, interesting. Then show some subjects with a crying face. Ask Ss to guess why he /she doesn’t like it.
After the game, T should tell Ss each subject is important Maybe we should take interests in each subject.
Presentation 3
Ask Ss what day today is and if they have P.E. class. Discuss why they like P.E. and who their teacher is. While discussing, learning the words and phrases in the conversation. Monday, Friday, Saturday, for sure.
Show the conversation on page 50. Ask Ss to read in silence by themselves. Then play the recording for Ss to listen and imitate. Then ask Ss to repeat after the recording in groups. Ask Ss to practice it for 2 minutes, then ask some pairs to role-play the conversation, see which group is the best.
