In a small village, a little boy lived with his parents. He was the only son. He used to get angry very easily and hurt others with his words. His friends and neighbours avoided him, and his parents were really worried about him.
His parents advised him many times to control his anger(怒气) and be kind. Unluckily, it didn’t work. Finally, the boy’s father came up with an idea.
One day, his father gave him a huge bag of nails(钉子) and asked the boy to hit one nail on the board every time he became angry. The little boy found it interesting and accepted the task.

The little boy found it very difficult to hit the nails and decided to control his anger. Slowly, the number of nails hit on the board was reduced half.

Teachers want to get along with you and enjoy seeing you learn. But teachers and students sometimes have a clash (冲突). This can happen between any two people. If you show your teacher that you want to make the situation better, he or she will probably do everything possible to make that happen. Take these steps if the problem seems difficult to solve.
★Talk to an adult you trust.
★Give it time. You may not feel comfortable at once with your teachers, but that may change as you get to know each other.
★If necessary, talk with your parents about what to do next. Lots of times, a meeting can be set up to discuss the problem. This may clear the air and make things better. Everyone’s goal should be to create trust and kindness.
Your relationship with your teachers is often your first chance to develop a “business relationship”. It is different from your family relationship and friendship, which are built on love. In a business relationship, both parties get something out of the relationship. But they don’t necessarily need to be good friends, like each other or understand each other well. They simply need to respect each other and be polite.
When you act this way, and remember that you’re not the only kid in the class, you are helping your teacher. Your teacher will notice this. Teachers also like it when students follow directions and when they learn and obey the rules of the classroom. For example, these may be rules about listening when another student is talking, about taking turns, or about raising your hand when you want to say something or ask a question.
26. How many steps can help you if you have a clash with your teacher and want to improve it

第三节、阅读下面这篇文章,根据所提供的信息,回答问题。(10分)
How to solve conflicts(冲突) between friends
It’s completely normal for friendships to be tense (紧张的) at times, because two people don’t necessarily share the same tastes, ideas or ways of seeing or doing things. If you and your friend disagree about something, the two of you might not listen to each other or understand each other. That’s when a conflict comes up.
When a conflict comes up, it’s important to deal with it. Here is some advice that might be helpful when you deal with it.
Be committed (坚定的). It’s important to show that you’re open and committed to solving the problem together. It’s not a competition, with a winner and loser; it’s a process you go through together.
Describe the problem. Start by identifying(确认) the situation that you’re having a problem with and what you’d like to change (for example, “I prefer to be spoken to politely, not in this way…”).
Name your feelings. Tell your friend how the conflict makes you feel (for example,“…it makes me very angry…”).
Find out possible solutions(解决方案). Together with your friend, find out possible solutions.
You can even write them down on a piece of paper. At this stage, any idea is a start, so write them all down!
Assess (评价) the solutions. Together with your friend, assess all the solutions. Are any of the solutions realistic Do any of them satisfy both of you Will any of them solve the problem
Come to an agreement. Together with your friend, choose the solutions you prefer and come to an agreement.
Reassess. Some time later, check if the agreement has been respected and if the problem has been solved. Take the time to talk to your friend and review your experience. If the solution you chose hasn’t worked, you can try another.
Answer the following questions.
1. Why is it completely normal for friendships to be tense at times
2. What’s important while two people solve the problem together
3. How should you describe your feeling where there’s a conflict
4. What should you do if the solution hasn’t worked
5. How many pieces of advice does the writer give to help deal with conflicts

26. How many steps can help you if you have a clash with your teacher and want to improve it
A. 1 B. 2 C. 3 D. 4

A. Two persons should like each other a lot.
B. Two persons should be very good friends.

29. What does the passage mainly talk about
A. The ways to get on well with your teachers.
B. The relationship between students and teachers.

D. The best time to communicate with your teachers.

【答案】1.Because two people don’t necessarily share the same tastes, ideas or ways of seeing or doing things.
2.It’s important to show that you’re open and committed.
3.I should tell my friend how the conflict makes me feel.
4.I should try another.
5.The writer gives 7/seven pieces of advice to help deal the conflicts.
