学情分析
本单元出现的语言材料,如关于方位场所的询问在以前已经涉及过,而使用Can/Could you please …礼貌地提出请求在以前也学习过。学生经过两年的英语学习,已经具备了较好的英语基础知识和听、说、读、写的能力,自主、合作、探究方面也有了一定的发展和提高。本单元的语言材料非常贴近学生生活,能够激发学生的兴趣,问路和指路的交际用语能拓展学生解决生活实际问题的能力以及综合运用能力。礼貌用语的操练把课堂教学和学校德育教育很好地结合在一起,学生在学习语言的同时,又能深刻感受文明礼貌这一传统美德在生活中的广泛性和重要性。
学时重点

How to train students to ask the way and give direction with objective clauses.
Teaching Steps
Step Ⅰ Greeting and leading in
T: How are you today

Ask and answer like this to lead in the new lesson.
Explain the topic of Unit 3 and review the objective clauses.
Step Ⅱ Show the learning aims
Show the learning aims and ask students to read them together. Then explain some of them.
Step Ⅲ Warming up 
Play a game to review the phrases and objective clauses. Teacher explains the places in English while showing the pictures and words and students guess what places they are .Then ask some students to do the guessing game.
Step Ⅳ Matching (1a)
T: You know many places and what we can do there.
Can you match the activities with the places Do 1a and then report.
Step Ⅴ Listening 
T: Look at the picture, guess what they are doing
---They are asking the way.
Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks with words you hear in the recording. Share them in groups and act them out in groups .Then check the answers with the whole class.
Step VI Practice
Read the instructions to the class.
Point out the list of things people need and the pictures of the places in activity 1a.T: Look at activity 2. Have a conversation with a partner. Ask your partner politely where you can do these thing and then answer your partner’s questions.
As students work, listen to some pairs in order to check the progress and help with pronunciation as needed.
After students have had a chance to practice several exchanges, ask some pairs to come to the front of the classroom and act out their conversations.
