The Vitality Big Half Marathon gets started and will see people deal with various challenges. It first started last year and saw over 11,000 people take part, with the aim of inspiring more people to get active and take up running.
The marathon will start at 9 a.m. by Tower Bridge, and runners will then follow a 13.1- mile route that will take them past Shadwell and Limehouse. Runners will follow the River Thames back towards Wapping and then head towards Southwark Park. The route continues along the south side of the River Thames, circling around Rotherhithe and traveling through Deptford towards the finish line at the Cutty Sark. You can go to various points to watch the runners in person. It will also be possible to watch the half marathon at home on your TV or online.

Dear Jack,
Knowing that you are interested in Qingming Scroll, I’m willing to introduce it to you.
Painted by Zhang Zeduan, Qingming Scroll is a masterwork of Chinese art, offering an important insight into life in the 12th century. It consists of three main sections, which provide a comprehensive look of what life was like then. This timeless scroll is an important example of realism in the history of Chinese paintings and greatly influenced generations of future artists.
It would be great if you can come to China and appreciate it for yourself.

Annie reached out and stopped her. She had had enough and couldn’t bear it any longer. All she wanted was a break. Impatiently, Annie asked Mary to step aside to make room for other customers; after all, she didn’t want anybody to hold up her line again. Face burning, Mary whispered an apology and moved aside, making space for the next customer. When she was carefully choosing which items to leave behind, other customers were whispering, casting pitiful glances at her. At that moment, Annie caught tears welling up in Mary’s eyes!
Mary’s tears made Annie realize that she had been so selfish. How could she be so rude and so mean “Was my day that terrible Should I have been more patient Mary, like so many ordinary people, is in such a difficult situation. Should I, still luckily working, treat this poor woman like this ” Feeling guilty and ashamed, Annie paid the rest of the bill, placed the items back into the bag, handed her the receipt and wished her a good day.

2.Checklist的落实
续写部分有4处使用了v-ing形式作状语:Face burning/making space/casting pitiful glances at her/ Feeling guilty and ashamed。
