As a student, we must know about the school rules and obey the rules; Try to be a good student

Step 1 Warm-up
T: Good morning, boys and girls. Nice to meet you!
Step 2 Learn the new words in this period
Step 3 Lead-in and presentation
1. Listen to a song first.
Show some pictures and use the target language:
Can you …… No, we can’t. So, don’t…….
Picture1: Please look at this picture. First let’s look at the clock. What time is it Yes, it’s nine o’clock. The class has begun. So the boy is late. Can we arrive late for class Don’t arrive late for class. You must be on time.
Picture2: The boy is running. Can we run in the hallways No, we can’t. So don’t run in the hallways. But we can run outside.
Picture3: Can you see the boy and the girl who are eating Can we eat in the classroom So, don’t eat in the classroom. We can eat in the dining room.
Picture3: What are the two boys doing They are fighting. Can we fight We can’t fight with others. So, don’t fight.
Teach student to read these school rules and ask them to read these school rules together.
activity 1a
Ask students to open their books. Point out the list of school rules. Invite a student to read each rule to the class.Call Ss’ attention to the picture. Say each of these students is breaking one of these rules. Write the number of the rule each student is breaking in the box next to him or her. Point out the sample answer.
Ss do the activity individually.
Check the answers.
Step 4 Listening (1b)
Ask students to read the five rules once more.
Point to the three names. saying, you are listening to a conversation. Three students are breaking the rules. Listen and write the number of the rules next to the name of the student who is breaking the rules.
Play the recording for the first time. Ss only listen.
Play the recording again. This time Ss listen and fill in the number of the rule after each name.
Check the answers.
Peter: 2 Amy: 3 Mike: 4
After that, invite five students to role-play the conversation of the listening material.
Step5 writing practice
You are good students. You must obey the school rules. Please write other rules you know. You can begin like these: Don’t….
Step 6 Pair work (1c)
Invite a pair of Ss to read the sample conversation to the class.
Put Ss into pairs. Say, student A is a new student. He/She doesn’t know the rules in the school. Student B tells him/her about the rules in 1a.
Get Ss work in pairs, as they are working, move around the room offering help as needed.
Get some pairs of Ss to present their conversation to the class.
Step 7 Summary
In this class, we’ve mainly learned how to talk about school rules; we must obey the school rules.
Step 8 Homework
1) To sum up your school rules, use “Don’t…”to write them down on your exercise book.
2) To copy the new words for three times
