一、学情分析 所教班级是初级中学的普通班。班级一部分学生的基础较为薄弱,水平不一,所以在教学过程中教师会尽量让最多的学生都参与到活动中来,让他们感受到学习英语的乐趣所在。七年级学生活泼好动,想象力丰富,因此更需要教师在课堂上运用生动活泼,形式多样的教学手段来激发学生的学习积极性和自信心,慢慢让学生找到适合自己的英语学习方法,并爱上学习英语。
二、教材分析 本节课是人教版七下Unit 3 How do you get to school Section B的阅读文章,学生通过对Section A部分交通方式的学习和掌握的基础上,进一步在阅读中学习运用新单词、短语和句型,同时注重学生阅读策略的培养,包括跳读、寻读以及对信息加工处理的策略。活动内容循序渐进,由浅入深,所以在教学过程中应给予学生及时的方法指导。
三、教学目标设计 Language and knowledge aim (1)Key words: river, boat, bridge, village, villager, ropeway, between, dream, leave, cross, afraid and so on.(2) Key phrases: between... and..., go on a ropeway, one 11-year-old boy, many of, come true and so on.(3) Understand some of the difficult sentences in the passage.
Ability aim Through various reading exercises, students can learn some new words, phrases and sentences, complete the reading comprehension tasks and obtain relevant useful information.
Learning strategy and skill 自上而下(top-down)的阅读模式(指在理解文本时先抓文本中心,再抓文本结构,最后理解细节和语言)。
Emotion, attitude and values 了解贫困地区孩子上学的交通困难,城市孩子要关注他们,懂得珍惜自己的生活和学习条件,激发自己努力学习。
四、教学重难点 Key points New words and phrases in the passage.

五、教学方法 1、情景教学法:使用大量的图片、视频等资源,吸引学生的注意力和兴趣,让学生更容易去理解并乐于参与,提高兴趣度,提高上课效率。
2、任务型教学法:用各种各样的,精心设计的具体、可操作的任务贯穿其中,倡导体验参与,培养自主学习能力。让他们自己在完成一个又一个任务的同时获得成功感,从而提高学习英语的兴趣。以参与、体验、互动、交流、合作的学习方式,充分发挥学习者自身的认知能力,真正实现“在做中学”。
六、教学过程设计 Step 1 Process Revision
Teacher activity Ask students to review different expressions of the same transportation, for example: 乘公交车:take the bus=by bus=on the bus.
Ss activity Students say all these expressions one by one as quickly as possible.
Purpose To help build the vocabulary and phrase foundation for the reading passage.
Step 2 Process Pre-reading : Look and say
Teacher activity Show some map pictures of how people go to different places.
Ss activity Students look at these road maps and try to describe how to get there.
Purpose Practice asking and answering the ways using some words like first, next and then. At the same time, students review different places and the corresponding position prepositions.
Step 3 Process Pre-reading: Show the topic of this reading class: Different ways to school. First, ask students about the topic. Next, ask students’ opinions about them.
Teacher activity Show the topic and lead the students to think about two questions. How do you get to school every day and what do you think of it
Ss activity Students try to give different answers to these questions.
Purpose To help students be familiar with the topic of the reading material and activate their existing schema.
Step 4 Process Pre-reading: Put forward a question“How do they get to school ”and ask students to describe all these different and hard ways.
Teacher activity Lead the students to see several pictures of going to school in some hard ways and describe their feelings.
Ss activity Look all these pictures and say sth. about them.
Purpose Make a comparison about the way students around the world how to get to school, thus arousing their attention about the reading passage.
Step 5 Process Pre-reading: Look and say
Teacher activity Ask the students to look at the picture taken from our English book and tell what they can say.
Ss activity Look at it and say some things like a big river, two students, dangerous, ropeway and so on.
Purpose Try to get the students say some words of the passage.
Step 6 Purpose While-reading: Task 1: Quickly skimming and answer the question.
Teacher activity Ask the students to read the passage for the first time quickly and answer a question about the main idea.
Ss activity Students read quickly and answer the question.
Purpose To help the students get the main idea and understand the passage from a general perspective.
Step 7 Process While-reading:Task 2: Skimming and answer T (true) or F(false)
Teacher activity Ask the students to read the passage and decide which statement is true and which one is false.
Ss activity Students quickly read and decide.
Purpose To help the students better understand the content of the passage.
Step 8 Process While-reading: Task 3: Scan the passage and answer the questions.
Teacher activity The teacher give the students enough time to carefully read all the details of the whole passage.
Ss activity Students need to read every sentence of the passage carefully and find out all answers to the questions.
Purpose To help the students deal with the details of the reading passage.
Step 9 Process While-reading: Task 4: Scan the passage again and complete the sentences with words from the passage.
Teacher activity Ask the students to choose some words taken from the reading material to fill in some sentences after reading it carefully once again.
Ss activity Students read the passage carefully again and choose some words to fill in the blanks.
Purpose To help the students understand the key words in this passage in some situation-based sentences.
Step 10 Process Post-reading: Challenge Time(Retell the passage according to some key words on the screen)
Teacher activity Ask the students to work in groups of four and try to retell the passage according to the key words on the screen one by one.
Ss activity Students work in groups of four and try to retell the whole passage in their own words.
Purpose To practice the students’ oral English while checking their understanding of the content.
Step 11 Process Emotional education: Two things you need to know
Teacher activity Ask the students to read these two sentences:“Treasure all you have now”and“Be brave to every difficulty ahead”and say sth. about them.
Ss activity Students read together and talk about their feelings.
Purpose To educate the students.
Step 12 Process Homework assignment
Teacher activity Show the homework on the screen.
Ss activity Read it and write it down.
Purpose To help consolidate what students have learned today.
