一、教材分析
本单元围绕Could you please tell me where the restrooms are?这个话题，设计了相关的语言情景。围绕如何学会如何有礼貌地获得信息，培养日常生活中问路与指路的能力。重点学习掌握宾语从句。教学中通过听说训练，俩俩结对活动和小组活动来训练核心句型。其次通过听力训练，Pair work活动和小组之间的合作交流，进一步巩固这一语言现象，提高学生的听说技能和运用语言的能力。
二、学情分析?
九年级学生通过两年的学习已经具有一定的英语基础知识和语言表达能力。在八年级下册第四单元学习直接引语和间接引语时，学生已经接触过宾语从句。在此基础上去学习新的语言就容易多了，也能激发他们的语言学习兴趣和求知欲。而本单元学习内容及谈话的主题“问路与指路”贴近学生的生活，学生比较感兴趣也乐于参与语言实践活动。那么教学中我尽量创设情境，根据他们自身生活体验，鼓励他们大胆参与任务型教学实践活动，自主学习，合作交流。

Ss: Could you tell me how to get to Class 2?
T: That’s right. Very good.
Find differences between the sentences. Say which ones are more polite.

This activity reviews earlier vocabulary and introduces some new words.
look though the city map first . Ask a student: What kind of place is this? What do they sell there?
Go through the instructions with the class.
Read the list of things to the class. To review the meaning of each item on the list, invite different students to say each phrase in their own words.
Point to the lettered parts of the picture one by one.
Point out the sample answer. Say, he letter c is in front of the words buy shampoo because you could buy shampoo in a department store. There may be more than one correct answer for some blanks.
While students are working, move around the room offering help as necessary.

This activity gives students practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversation.
Read the instructions to students. Point out the two conversations that are shown in the picture.
As you listen, fill in the blanks with words you hear in the recording.
Play the recording the first time.
Students only listen.
Play the recording a second time.
This time ask them to fill in the blanks with the words you hear.
When students listen, stop the recording from time to time to allow students enough time to fill in the blanks. Check the answers with the whole class.

After students have had a chance to practise several exchanges,ask some pairs to come to the front of the classroom and act out their conversa tions.
