一:warm-up
Greetings
Students watch a film clip about the animals and then they will answer a question: what animals can you see in the film clip?
T: of all the animals, I like pandas best. So what’s your favorite animal?
S1: My favorite animal is the tiger.
T: Does she/he like tigers?
S2: Yes, she/he does.
……….
T: In the next part, you will hear some sounds of the animals, listen to it carefully and tell me which animal it is? Are you clear? (YES)

Memory challenge (group competition)
In the first picture, students will see eight cartoon animals. And in the following pictures, there are only seven. One animal is missing and the students should guess which animal is missing as quickly as possible.
Questions: Do you like animals? --→where can you see animals?(in the zoo)
T: Yes, we can see many kinds of animals in the zoo. We will learn M6U1.
二:Listening and speaking
In this unit, Tony and Lingling are visiting Beijing Zoo with the help of the guide. Listen to it the first time and answer the following two questions:
What’s the name of the panda?
What’s Lingling’s favorite animal?
Listen to it the second time, read after it and then complete the following table.

Then check the answers together.
Ask and answer according to the table using the structures:
Do …eat…? Yes, they do. / No, they don’t.
Does …eat…? Yes, it does. / No, it doesn’t.
I will give them 1 minute to underline the important words and expressions. Then the students will say them one by one and make a sentence using the important phrases.
Then read the dialogue in pairs. And then present in the class.
Group competition.
One student from each group will have 30 seconds to make as many sentences as possible using the structure: Does…? And the other students should answer it. Each group will get 1 point for each question. The group who can make the most sentences is the winner.

Animals are our friends. They have feelings and passions like our human being. They may cry when they are sad and they may smile when they are happy. But still many people kill them for money. So we should stop them. No eating, no killing. We should love and protect them. Ok, let’s read the two sentences together. “Animals are our friends. Let’s love and protect them”.
五. Homework
Write some riddles for the animals we have learned today.
Preview the new words, expressions and the passage in unit 2.

七.教学反思
这节课基本上达到了预定的目标,但是总体上问题还是有很多。
开始问what animals can you see? 的时候,提前问了问题does she like…?不过还好及时改正过来了。看来准备还是不是很充分,这点以后要注意了,尤其是一节课的开头最重要。
Dangerous, bear, panda 等词的发音有点问题。
在memory challenge游戏中,因为第四组没人举手,所以没得分。我因为经验不足这点没处理好,应该是每组的分数均衡才对,不然会挫伤同学们的积极性。
最后的游戏目的是练习does的用法,可是孩子们的回答都是yes, it does. 所以游戏没有达到最终的效果。可以这样来修改,一组同学问,另一组同学回答,答对的那组加一分。或者一组的每一个人必须要问一个问题,另外一个同学来回答。这样修改可能效果还会好很多。
我在看自己的录像时发现整节课好像没有高潮,感觉平平,还有自己的发音还是存在很大问题,还需要多加练习,如何让自己的语言有魅力,我觉得这是我要做的。另外,总体上还是感觉有些紧张,以至于最后每组的分数忘了总结,带过去的奖品也忘了发了。不过紧张不是理由,还是准备不充分造成的。以后要更努力才是。
