教材分析 海外暑期英语课程越来越受家长和孩子的追捧，日益成为学生暑期生活的一部分。而受地域和高昂价格的限制，一直是比较有争议的话题。本单元就是以海外暑期英语课程为话题的一则广告，分别从课程、师资、住宿和课外活动几方面进行宣传。而广告这一特殊的文体，学生在初中阶段首次遇到，因此如何让学生从体裁了解广告的构成要素，体会广告语言的说服力和感染力，区分广告中的事实与观点，提升辨别力，培养其批判性思维，是编者意图所在。
学情分析 暑期海外英语课程对于学生来说，并不陌生，学生非常热衷参与此项活动，所以对于学习本篇文章，应该兴趣很高。但广告这一特殊文体，在初中阶段首次出现，如何了解广告的构成要素，体会广告语言，是本单元的重难点。另外，本课生词达17个，抽象词偏多，对于学生理解文章也是一个挑战。
教学目标 通过本课时教学，让学生能够：1.在语境中猜测并认读下列词汇：learn about American culture, at the same time, last for four weeks, depend on your personal choice, provide books, set tests, check your progress, stay as a guest, daily life, fill out our form，be certain to do2.通过读海外英语课程的广告，识别文章体裁，分析广告的构成要素，区分事实与观点，说出广告意图；3.通过整理、分析、归纳信息，选择或记录暑期英语课程信息；4.通过区分广告的事实与观点，阐述是否参加的理由，培养批判性思维，理性消费。

教材分析 第二单元的课文是关于洛杉矶暑期英语课程的宣传，语言具有感染力，具有不同的语言风格。广告风格的文章，在初中阶段首次出现，可以丰富学生的文章体裁认知。文章涉及含有but、and、or的并列句，但比较简单，利于学生掌握，不作为教学重点；生词有17个之多，需要掌握词的用法的有5个。
学情分析 本课生词多，内容长，对于学生来说，如何恰当断句，准确朗读课文有比较大的难度。抽象意义单词偏多，单词的用法复杂，需要通过大量的练习来掌握。如何在第一课时理解内容的基础上，转化为自己的语言，准确复述，也是本课的难点。
教学目标 通过本课时教学，让学生能够：1.通过跟读、自读、互读，准确、流利朗读课文；2.正确用provide, progress, prefer, depend, as well as翻译、填词、造句；在语境中体会、归纳and,but,or的意义，准确连句；3.根据思维导图，准确、流利地复述课文；4.根据U2课文，仿写一则中文暑期课程广告；
