Jenny: Danny, why are you standing on one foot
Danny: I want to set a new world record. I will be the champion of standing on one foot!
Jenny: And how do you feel
Danny: I'm so tired! How long will

Jenny: Brian is coming. We can ask him. He has a book of world
records.
Danny: Hi Brian. I have been standing on one foot for more than
three minutes. I want to break a world record. Do you know
what the record is
Brian: (He looks in his book. ) The record is eight hours. Don't stop,
Danny. In seven hours and fifty- seven minutes, you'll be the
champion!
Danny: That's too long! I'll be late for supper!
Jenny: We're having pizza at our house. Don't worry. I'll bring
you a piece later.
Danny: That's very kind of you, Jenny. But my family is going to
have a gathering tonight. Many relatives are coming,
and my mum is cooking chicken. I love chicken!
Brian: Well, you can't walk there on one foot.
Danny: (He puts his foot down. ) I'll walk there on two feet. The gathering is more important than a world record!

how soon 多久;主要用来表示对将来的一段时间的提问。
how often多长时间一次;主要用来提问在某一段时间内某个动作发生的频率。
4. I have been standing on one foot for more than three minutes.(教材P82)
现在完成进行时, 表示从过去某一时间开始一直持续到现在的动作, 还有可能持续到将来, 常与since 或for 引导的时间状语连用。
现在完成进行时的结构是“have/has been +动词的现在分词”
e. g. I have been writing a book since last week.
从上周开始我就在写一本书。
辨析: 现在完成进行时与现在完成时
①现在完成进行时强调的是动作从过去持续到现在, 且可能还将继续下去。
e. g. I have been doing it for years. 我已经做了几年了。
②现在完成时更强调过去的动作给现在留下某种结果和影响。
e. g. I have done it.
我已经做了。
说明这个动作没有断过,现在还在做。
强调做过的事情本身, 现在是否在做不是关键。
5. I’ll bring you a piece later.(教材P82)
bring v. 带来
常用于“bring sth. to+地点名词”结构中。
bring sb. sth. = bring sth. for sb.表示“给某人带来某物”
e. g. Can you bring your friend to the park tomorrow
明天你能把你的朋友带到公园来吗
Bring the book for me. = Bring me the book.
把那本书带给我。
6. Many relatives are coming, and my mum is cooking chicken.(教材P82)
relative /'rel t v/ n. 亲戚 可数名词,其复数形式为relatives。
e. g. A lot of relatives will come to my home for my grandpa’s eightieth birthday.
许多亲戚会来我家为我爷爷过八十大寿。
