Step 1 Greetings & Review ● Greet students as usual.
● Show students some picture of Tom’s day. Encourage them to work in two groups to talk about Tom. Remind them of the third person. Ask them to use another way to express times.
Step 2 Free talk, Check & Judge
● Show students four clocks and have students say the times using two ways. Then ask students to free talk
about their own activities at the moment. Finally ask any students to show their own daily lives. Ask different students to show their own activities using the target language.
● Call attention to the phrases in 2a. Encourage students to check the activities they think are healthy. They may discuss in pairs. Make a survey to vote the healthy ones.
● Show students two pictures of Tony and Mary. Encourage students to say who is healthier and why.
Step 3 Reading
● Show students 4 questions. Ask them to read the article quickly and find out the answers. Check answers 3 minutes later.
● Call attention to the chart in 2c. Encourage students to read the article carefully again and try to fill in the chart. Check answers 4 minutes later. Remind them to use singular third person forms. Encourage them to find out singular third person forms in the article.
● Ask students to read the article with the computer again.
Step 4 Practice
● Show them the uncompleted paragraph of the article. Ask them to read the article together. Then encourage different students to fill in the blanks.
● Show them some pictures of Mary’s activities. Ask them to close their books. Encourage them to work in groups and try to tell the story. Then vote the best one.
Step 5 Language points & Practice
● Introduce the language points to students, have them take notes.
● Show them some exercises on the screen, then encourage students to complete them by themselves.
Then check answers.
Step6 Summary
● Help them go through the key points of this period. Remind them to cherish our time.
