Jenny: Hey, Danny What are you doing
Danny: I’m doing some research for my report about my favourite
season. I’m going to talk about winter. Winter is your favourite
season. Look at this website：
Come and enjoy a true Canadian winter out in the mountains. Start your day on the ski hills or go ice skating. But don’t forget your scarves, hats and gloves. Why Winters here are really cold！
Have lunch in our world class restaurant and then go back outside for a snowball fight. You can even get the family together and make a snowman. In the evening, you can join us inside for dinner. Winter is the best season! Enjoy a clear, cold night beside a warm fire.

I’ll tell you something about winter weather in my hometown. I live in Baoding, Hebei. The weather here is very cold. The temperature is often below zero. People wear warm clothes to go out. They wear scarves, hats and gloves because it often snows. Sometimes it snows heavily. Then people go out to play in the snow! They go skiing, have snowball fights or make snowmen! How happy they are! But the farmers are still busy. They are getting ready for the next year!

research n.& v. 研究; 调查
research后面常接on, about或for。常用短语是do (some) research, 意思是“做（一些）研究/ 调查”。
【例句】
Scientists often use mice to do research.
科学家们经常用老鼠做研究。
2. But don’t forget your scarves, hats and gloves. (教材P84)
forget v. 忘记
常用短语有:
forget sth. 忘记某事（物）
forget to do sth. 忘记去做某事
forget doing sth. 忘记做过某事
forget指忘记具体的东西, 通常不和表示地点的词或短语连用。
【例句】
Don’t forget to do your homework.
不要忘记做你的家庭作业。
He forgot meeting me in Shanghai.
他忘记了曾在上海见过我。

get ... together 召集......, 聚集
together作副词, 意为“一起; 共同”。常用短语还put ... together意为“把......放在一起”。
【例句】
We should get the students together. 我们应该把学生们召集起来。Please put all the things together. 请把所有的东西放在一起。
4. Enjoy a clear, cold night beside a warm fire. (教材P84)
clear作形容词, 意思是“晴朗的; 明亮的; 清澈的”, 常用来形容天空、湖水、玻璃等。
clear作形容词时还可以表示 “清晰易懂的; 明白清楚的”, 其副词形式为clearly “清晰地, 清楚地”。
【例句】
You can see that snow mountain on a clear day.
天气晴朗时你可以看见那座雪山。
5. I can’t wait for winter. (教材P84)
wait for 等待......
wait作动词, 意为“等, 等待”, 常与介词for连用构成固定短语。wait for, 表示“等待......”, for后面可以接人或物作宾语。
wait for sb. to do sth.的意思为“等待某人做某事”。
【例句】
Your mother is waiting for you near the school.
你的妈妈正在学校附近等你。
We’re waiting for the bus.
我们正在等公共汽车。
I am waiting for the waiter to give me a cup of coffee.
我正在等待服务员给我一杯咖啡。
