Presentation
Now it’s Steven’s turn to speak.
“Today, I am going to tell you about my favourite day during my favourite season. On that day, the weather was warm and the sun was bright. After breakfast, I went on a trip to the countryside with my friends. All the grass and trees were green. We played catch and made maple syrup. Later, we had a picnic near the lake. We had sandwiches and milk.
After lunch, we fed the geese. ‘Honk! Honk!’ The geese love bread! Then the sky became dark. There were many clouds. It began to rain! We ran to the car, but it was too late. We were all wet! We all laughed. What a great day!”
“Great work, Steven! Let’s give him a big hand, class,”says Mr. Jones.
(The class claps loudly.)
“Today is another good day,” Steven thinks.
Culture Tip
Maple syrup comes from the sap of the maple tree. It is a very interesting process. First, you put a tap in the tree so the sap can come out easily. The fresh sap from the tree is not sweet and it has almost no taste. Next, you boil the sap. This makes the sap thick and sweet. Now you have maple syrup.

My Special Day
It was my special day last Sunday. It was spring. The weather was sunny and warm. It was special because it was my mother’s fortieth birthday. And I did special thing on that day for my mother. In the morning, I went to the supermarket. I bought a yellow sweater for my mother as her birthday present. It was my first time to buy the present for my mother. And I made money by myself. My mother was very excited! How happy we were! I’ll never forget that day!

Language Points
It’s one’s turn to do sth. 意思是“轮到某人做某事”, 其中one’s必须是形容词性物主代词 (如: my, his等)或名词所有格。
【例句】
It’s my turn to clean the classroom. 轮到我打扫教室了。
It’s Lucy’s turn to sweep the floor. 轮到露西扫地了。

play catch意为“玩传(接)球游戏”。此处catch作名词, 意为“传(接)球”。catch还可作动词, 意为“赶上; 追上; 接住; 抓住; 患病; 感染上”。

goose n. 鹅
goose的复数为geese。
除了goose, 以下两个名词变复数也是把-oo变为-ee: foot → feet 脚; tooth → teeth 牙齿。
5. We were all wet! (教材P88)
wet adj.意为“湿的”, 反义词是dry adj.意思是“干的”; wet还可以用作动词, 意思是“把......弄湿”。
wet的常用短语有:
get wet 淋湿 wet through 湿透
【例句】
My bike got wet in the rain. 我的自行车被雨淋湿了。
Wet your hair and apply the shampoo. 把你的头发打湿然后抹上洗发水。
6. “Let’s give him a big hand, class,” says Mr. Jones. (教材P88)
give sb. a big hand 给某人热烈鼓掌, 此处的big表示“热烈的”。
