What will you do in the summer Here is my plan. I will volunteer at ARG (Animal Rights Group)．ARG takes care of pets without a home.
Sometimes, people move away and they can’t take their pets with them. Other times, people are too old or sick and they can’t take care of their pets. Or sometimes, people are not nice to their pets.
See this puppy His name is Rocket. His family left him alone in a field. Luckily, ARG found Rocket and took him to the animal centre.
ARG needs a lot of volunteers. I’m going to volunteer four times
a week. I will walk the dogs and I’ll help with the other animals,
too. I love animals.

You can volunteer at many different kinds of places. You can help out at: after-school clubs, libraries, homeless shelters, old age homes and lots more.

Language Points
care n. 照顾; 照料; 小心
作名词时care是不可数名词。
【例句】
They shared the care of the children.
他们共同照顾孩子。
care还可作动词, 意思是“关心; 照料”。
【例句】
She cares about her children very much. 她很关心她的孩子们。
take care of意为“照顾, 照料”, 与look after同义。
【例句】
My mother is ill. I have to take care of her.
＝ My mother is ill. I have to look after her.
我妈妈病了。我得照顾她。

move away是动词短语, 意为“离开, 搬走”。
【例句】

alone adj.& adv. 独自(的), 与by oneself意思相同。

辨析：alone和lonely
alone (客观的)独自, 单独 用作形容词时作表语和宾语补足语, 用作副词时作状语。 The girl went to the forest alone.

lonely (感情上的)孤独的、寂寞的 只用作形容词, 作表语或定语。 She gets lonely now that all the kids have left home.
现在孩子们都离开了家, 她感到有些孤独。
leave sb. / sth. alone 不管/不干涉某人或某事物; 把某人/某物单独留下
【例句】
Don’t leave your children alone at home. It’s dangerous.
