本模块是外研社新标准英语(三年级起点)第八册第七模块第二单元的学习内容,本单元主要围绕着 She couldn’t see or hear.展开话题。向我们介绍了凯伦凯勒这位伟大的女性,虽然又聋又瞎但是她,但却凭着坚韧不拔的精神,克服各种困难,学会了说话和看书。本模块通过创设真实的情景引出一组对话,一首歌谣,和多个任务目标。当今社会,鞭笞青少年上进,为他们树立自强自立的榜样是人们经常谈论的话题,与人们的价值观紧密相连。六年级的学生已经掌握了一定的词汇量和日常交际用语,因为能对这类话题进行简单的交流。在本模块的学习中,重点通过听说读写等活动使学生进一步掌握一般过去式的用法以及与情态动词 could 有关的表达人的某种能力的相关词汇和交际用语。并通过学习,进一步提高学生的语言交际能力。
Learning Aims:
1.通过学习字母的发音,课文学习,小组讨论等,我们要能够听、说、读、写以下单词及短语:born, as, became, letter, herself, live, all over, role model, be born in...,couldn't see or hear, live to be..., a role model for....
2.通过听音跟读、个人朗读、小组分角色表演等形式,能够正确、规范、流利朗读活动二的句子。
3.借助思维导图,通过小组合作讨论复述海伦的精彩人生。

Language competences: The students will be able to get information by reading passages about people, and also introduce a person according to key information. Teaching Steps:
1. Warm-up and lead in
Greet the Ss. Share a song: Look up at the Spaceship
Talk about Yang Liwei and show the big idea of this module: Walk into the World of Famous People. Then lead in and show the leaning aims.
Talk about Helen Keller. Make a brief introduction of Helen Keller according to the information. Then show four tasks of this lesson.
2.New lesson
(1)Listen and answer: When and where was Helen Keller born
(2)Discuss and experience Helen’s hard life as a blind and deaf child. Talk about the hard life of Helen Keller when she was young.
Listen ,read paragraph 1 and answer:

Ending the lesson T makes a brief conclusion and invites the Ss to read the sentence “Keep your face to the sunshine, and you cannot see a shadow.” together. Encourage the Ss never give up.

在设计本节课时,我以课程标准为依据,立足教材,在把握学情的基础上确定教学目标,以学生为主体设计贴近学生生活实际的活动,实现由学生生活经验入手,进入文本学习,最后又回归生活。本节课的设计有以下几个特点:
首先,渲染氛围为有效教学服务。我从学生生活实际出发,让学生先体验和感受无法看的感觉,然后通过系列图片和电影视频片段,引导学生接触主题人物 Helen Keller。充分体现学生在学习中的主体作用,激发学生学习英语的兴趣。
其次,任务型活动是有效教学的手段。活动设计围绕教材提供的主题以及教材呈现的核心语言内容,设疑问难,以任务为驱动,环环相扣,体现了语言学习的持续性和渐进性,整个教学过程也体现了教学评一致性,以教促学,以评促教、促学。
再次,注意教学形式与内容的和谐统一,通过多种方式促进学生参与课堂活动,整个教学活动循序渐进,构成了一个有机的整体。对不同层次的学生进行适时、恰当、有效的评价,让每个学生感受成功的喜悦。
最后,注重情感教育和学生策略的培养。让学生学习 Helen Keller 的优秀事迹,让学生学有所得,学有所悟,希望海伦的精神能激励和教育大家在任何时候遇到困难都永不退缩。需要改进的地方是在环节的过渡上教学语言的应用有待进一步的提高,教学机制还需要更灵活,教学过程还要更有激情,还有,在提问学生方面,应多鼓励不敢举手的学生大胆张口说英语。孩子们练习的时间不够充分。
