Teaching Aims:
1.Aims on knowledge:
A: Learn the words: cashier dollar cent enjoy meal
B: Use simple present tense to talk about present activities.

Be able to use the following sentences freely in our daily life:
A: What do you want
B: I want a hot dog, please.
A: How much is it
B: It’s thirteen dollars and twenty-five cents.

(3)Develop Ss' interest in English.

Key points
1. Understand the meaning of the dialogue.
2. Enable the Ss to understand and order food and drinks.
Difficult points
1. Help the Ss ask and answer the question according to the text and Use the expression “I want ...” to talk about food and drink .
2. How to write a sentence, according to “what... ” “How much... ”.
3. Remember how to use the simple present tense to order food and
drinks.
Teaching Preparation:
1. PPT;
2. Words &sentences cards, some food and drinks.
Teaching Steps:
Step1:Greetings and warming-up.
Say hello to each other.
Step2:Lead-in
1. Sing a song “ What do you want to eat ”
2. Free talk.
There are so many delicious food and drinks in the song. I like eating ice cream. I like eating fish. I want to drink some juice. What do you like What do you want
After class, I’ll go to the restaurant and eat some tings.
(设计意图: 此环节歌曲激发兴趣,提问调动学生用英语思考。)
Step3: Presentation
1. Show the PPT, look and say.
T: Look! There are a lot of yummy food and drinks. I can see salad, cake , hamburger, ice cream…oh, my mouth is watering. I didn’t have lunch today. I want to eat a fish. I want to drink a cup of coffee. What do you want S1: … S2: … S3: … S4: …
After class, I’ll go to a restaurant and eat the yummy food.
Let’s enjoy the meal!( show another picture)
2. Watch and say.
1.) How to order the meal in the restaurant Today, let’s follow Simon to the restaurant order the meal. Now, watch a video. For the first time, listen carefully and try to answer my questions.
Let Ss watch the video and then answer the following questions:
Q1: How many people are there in the dialogue
Q2: Who are they
Q3: What are they talking about
Check the answers
2.) T: Good, do you know what food and drink do they want, So let’s watch the video again, piont, repeat and answer.
Q1: What does Daming want
Q2: What does Simon want
Q3: What does Simon’s father want
(Write on the Bb. What do you want I want …
How much is it It’s …)
After reading, check the answers one by one. When the kids answer the questions, the teacher asks the students to pay attention “how to use want or wants” Make some sentences to familiar with the present tense, especially the third person singular.
3. T: Wonderful! We know that they want two hamburgers, one hot dog and three colas. How much is it Please read the dialogue again. I’ll give you three minutes. Please read it by yourself. And then do some roles play.
To make sure if they really know “how to order the meal ” let some of them read the dialogue in roles.
4. Everybody did a good job. Now I’ll ask you a question. We know that they want two hamburgers, one hot dog and three colas. How much is it It’s thirteen dollars and twenty-five cents. Teach the new words “dollar and cent”.(设计意图: 为了让学生能够更好地朗读课文,运用对话,教师的指导作用是相当重的。同时表演不但可以锻炼学生的胆量,给学生展示的机会,还可以给学生提供自由拓展的空间,教师应给予学生充分的鼓励。)
Step4 Practice

2. Work in group.
First, the teacher gives an example.

Step5 Show time
Then the students practice the dialogue with their partners, and then act it out.
a. Fill in the blanks with the following words about food, drinks and money.( hamburger, hot dog, ice cream, chicken , cola, milk, juice…)
b. Read the dialogue in roles.
c. Share their works, show their dialogue.
(设计意图: 对所学知识进行进一步练习,通过表演巩固、复习, 深化对课堂教学的理解。让学生把所学知识真正的得到运用,突破本课的重、难点。)
Step6 Summary
