1.Lead in:
1)Introducing floating bottle
T:Do you know Wechat Do you use it We usually use it to chat with people. And in WeChat, there is a game called the floating bottle.
T:And one day, I find a special floating bottles in my wechat.
Let’s see what’s in it.
2. Reading
1)Pre-reading:Prediction
T: What’s this It’s a letter from Amy.
2). While-writing:
a. skimming:
Ask studnets to read the passage very quickly and find out “What does the letter talk about
T:What does it talk about Can you try to read the letter very quickly and tell me the answer?Little secrets, you can just try to read the first line.
b. carefully reading:
Ask students to read it again and find out “What rules does Amy have ”
T: We have many rules in our lives. We have school rules at school. We have class rules in the classroom and we even have family rules at home.

Let’s read it again and find out the things she must do& things she can’t do.(2 minutes)

3. Post-reading=Writing:
1)pre-writing: a.Brainstorming
Ask students to think about the rules in their daily life(at school & at home)

Do you have many rules Yes, actually, we have many rules.
Now, let’s have a brainstorming. Think about rules you have at school and at home. What do you have to do And what can’t you do Then try to fill in the rule tree.

b.writing strategies(secrets)

T: And before you start writing. Here we have 4 secrets for you. It can help you to write better and get high marks. You can choose any one of them. And if you finish the task behind,. you can get the secrets.
Ask students to use 3 ways of improving their writing.
1. Try to have clear structures: Read the passage and answer this question.
T: This is a part of Amy’s letter, Can you read it very quickly, find the key words and then answer the question
2. Try to use conjunctions: Make the two sentences into one sentence.
T: These are some rules in Amy’s letter. Can you use two words and make it into one sentence
3. Try to add your own opinions: Use the words to complete the letter from a boy.
T: In Amy’s letter. She uses these words to talk about her feelings and opinions about the rules. Can you try to fill in the letter with these words again
4. Try to use correct grammar.
T: Here I have a copy of Amy’s letter, but there are some mistakes. Can you find them out
2) While-writing:Drafting.(10 mins)
Ask students to try to write a passage about the rules around them.
T: With these three secrets, you can try to write the letter now!
3)Post-writing: peer-editing:
Ask students to change and share their passages with their partners. And guide them to edit others’ writing according to the standard given by the teacher.
T: Now, let’s try to exchange the letters with your deskmates. Today, I’l let you be little teachers. I will give the standards and you can use them to assess the letter with stars.
