When I was nine years old, I never dreamed that the small vending machine(自动售货 机)I had owned would turn me into a small business owner. Wanting to inspire his daughter's business sense, my dad brought home a vending machine he had purchased from a friend. Set-ting it down in front of me in our living room, he asked in all seriousness, “Do you want to start a business ” I said yes.
I owned 15 vending machines by the time I left high school, with all of the profits going toward my college fund. In addition to being a great bonding experience for my family, I couldn't tell you how many skills I learned from starting and developing my own business that helped me gain responsibility. I learned that not every experience in life led to the comforting encouragement: Well, you were tried. You should face bravely all kinds of difficulties.
Understanding both personal and professional finances is one of the most important life lessons to learn-the earlier, the better. I had to be fearless and confident-learning these skills at a young age saved me from speaking with difficulty through presentations later in life. Truly understanding what you're selling displays confidence and reliability, as does truly believing in prehending the ins and outs of your product and business shines through when speaking with clients though rejection happens all the time.
Throughout the unbelievable experience of running my own business in my childhood, I've learned valuable skills that help me in my school, job and personal life. I believe in the value of customer service. I go after clients and opportunities and understand that sometimes things don't go my way. With the help of my parents and customers who supported me, I grew up as a young entrepreneur with skills to keep for the rest of my life.
24. Why did the author's dad give her a vending machine

C.To solve her friend's financial problem.
D. To remind her how hard it is for him to earn money.

A. Her attitude towards rejection.
B.Her understanding of financial crises.
C.Her insight into her business experience.
D. Her vision of the future vending machines.
27.What can we infer from the text
A. It is too old to run the business.
B.One can succeed without support.
C. Abilities acquired at a young age are useful in the future.
D. Customer needs are always consistent with the enterprise.

The world is getting greener. That's according to Robert Mike. He has been mining data collected by an orbiting NASA camera that monitors green vegetation on the earth's surface, day by day. He showed that the amount of our planet's land surface covered by green leaves increased these years. Robert Mike was able to find what caused leaf cover to increase or decrease. In some places, change in leaf cover actually resulted from weather and climate changes. The growing season is getting longer in some temperate areas, and the rising carbon dioxide levels may be producing bigger, leafier plants.
One large area of Brazil lost plants. “I personally checked the data, and that's because of drought," Mike says. The most unusual changes were the result of human decisions in China and India though. Both countries have been getting a lot greener.
Molly Brown, a geographer, has seen this greening up close. “These are really good examples of how policy can really come into play,” she says. Brown says the greening of India comes from a huge expansion of irrigated agriculture: Instead of having just crops when it's raining, they also have a whole six months of cropping and greenness when it's not raining.
This version of greening isn't really so great for the environment though. The irrigation drains(排出)groundwater: Vegetation is wiped away at harvest time and the extra fertilizer farmers use releases greenhouse gases.
In China, though, about half of the new leaf cover that Mike detected appears to be the result of a huge reforestation effort. It's a government-sponsored attempt to prevent terrible dust storms that resulted from earlier deforestation. “They are really doing a good job,” Brown says. “They have a large and complete program of tree growing, tree planting and tree maintenance.”
28. What did Robert Mike get from the data
A. The amount of carbon dioxide. B. The extent of global warming.
C. The conditions of weather change. D. The causes of leaf cover change.
29.What does the underlined phrase “come into play” in paragraph 3 mean
A. Make a difference. B. Come to an end.
C. Play a trick. D. Lose track.
30. What is the author's attitude towards the way of greening in India
A. Confused. B. Doubtful. C. Unconcerned. D. Supportive.
31. How did China become greener according to the text
A. By planting more trees.
B. By using fertilizer to grow crops.
C. By making full use of groundwater.
D. By developing irrigated agriculture.

Whether you prefer solo dancing or being involved in a more formalized program, dancing offers the obvious plus to your physical health. You're not only moving your body in a rhythmic way and expressing feelings but also burning calories in your body and getting a workout for sure.
In a recent study, researchers compared the effects of walking, stretching and dancing on the wiring and gray matter of the aging brain. The result showed dancing had the significantly positive effect.
In the experiment, after volunteers in their 60s and 70s with healthy brains didn't show signs of cognitive(认知的) disorder, researchers placed them in three groups at will. One group walked, another group stretched and did balance training and the last group learned country dancing. The arrangements of the dancing became progressively more challenging over time. They all did the assigned activity for one hour a day, three times a week. After a period of six months, the volunteers' brains were re-scanned and compared to their brains when they had begun their voluntary work.
Agnieszka Burzynska, the study's lead author who is currently a neuroscientist and director of the BRAiN Lab at Colorado State University, found only one group showed a memory improvement the country dancer. The participants who learned country dancing now had richer white matter in the part of the brain that processed memory. White matter usually breaks down as a person ages, which may lead to cognitive decline. Dancing, therefore, protected the brain from aging-caused neurodegeneration. So, dancing is not just an aerobic activity good for your physical health. It helps your brain, too!
Country dancing, ballroom dancing, tango and waltz are all done with others. When you take part in these dances, you're involved in a beneficial social activity as well. You are also cognitively motivating your brain as you learn the steps of the dances. Dancing therefore might be one of the best physical activities you can choose for brain health.
32.What's the purpose of paragraph 1
A. To add background material. B. To introduce the topic of the text.
C. To raise questions about exercise. D. To present experimental conditions.
33. What can we learn about the volunteers in the experiment
A. They were grouped at random.
B. They were under cognitive decline.
C. They were all asked to learn dancing.
D. They were all born in the 1960s and 1970s.
34. What did the researchers mainly intend to prove through the experiment
A. The brain function of volunteers.
B. The cognitive disorder of volunteers.
C. The relationship between age and dancing.
D. The effect of dancing on the volunteers' brains.
35.Which of the following is the best title for the text
A. How Dancing Affects People's Lifestyle
B. Why Dancing Is the Best Social Activity
C. How Dancing Helps People's Brain Health
D. Why Country Dancing Is Beneficial to People's Health

What amazed us was that they won several award. But for me, the greatest award was to see them smiled and playing. Then we visited some homes of an elderly and some of them were moved to tears. Those old people were so happy to see them and they knew that the young were still caring. In a world in that everyone expects to receive, my advice is to be the one who is willingly to give. Stop for a minute, volunteer and make someone to smile.
