Before the discovery of DNA profiling (分析) in the 1980s, fingerprints were the easiest way to solve serious crimes. It's believed that each one of us has our own unique fingerprints. But did you know that our fingerprints could actually reveal a lot more about us than just our identity
According to Melanie Bailey of The Conversation, fingerprints can show lifestyle and environment, eating habits, possible medical problems and even the job of a person.
So how can we figure all this out from just a simple fingerprint Well, a fingerprint is formed when a finger touches a surface. Most fingerprints can’t be seen to the naked eye (裸眼) and require a chemical development process in order to make them visible. Stuck between the ridges (隆起的纹路) of a fingerprint, however, are substances (物质) that can tell a story about who we are. Things like traces of sweat, blood, and food reveal a lot of information about us --what we've touched, what we've eaten and even what drugs we've taken.
Besides, its use could be much wider. For example, it may be helpful in the future to doctors treating their patients. A fingerprint check may also tell a doctor whether a patient is properly taking medicine. In the treatment of some of the most serious illnesses, taking proper medicine is important.
In the future, fingerprint science can be used by the police and help doctors keep us in the best possible health.

A, lifestyle B, beauty C, eating habits D, medical problems
What can make the fingerprints tell a story

C, A finger touching a surface. D. The eyes of scientists.

A, a drug test B, a fingerprint check C, a blood test D, a health check
What is the main idea of the text
Fingerprints are helpful to the police.
Fingerprints keep us in the best possible health.

People tend to become more personal and hide less of themselves when using email . Researchers from Open University in Britain have found in a recent study that there are good reasons for this .
The team of researchers asked 83 pairs of students , all strangers to each other , to solve a problem . They had to discuss this question : ______1______The pairs of students had to talk over the problem either face to face or by computers . Dr. Johnson said , “They told their partners four times as much about themselves when they talked over the Internet as when they talked face to face . When the computers were fitted with cameras so that students could see each other , this limited the personal side of the conversation.”
_______2______ It was mainly about things such as where they went to school, or where they used to live . But some students discussed their love stories , and personal childhood experiences .
Dr. Johnson believes that emailing encourages people to focus on themselves.______3______ “If you cannot see the other person, it becomes easier to talk about yourself . This is because you are not thinking what the other person is thinking of you. So emailing has become the modern way of talking,” said Dr. Johnson. ______4______ “In the 19th century people started to use the ‘telegraph’ to communicate. Now the same kind of thing has happened and people ended up speaking more freely.”
Dr. Johnson thinks that e-mailers need to know about these effects of emailing, especially when they start work in a company. _______5______
Love stories are a popular choice.
However, this style of talking is not entirely new.
Generally, the information was not extremely personal.
The more personal information you give, the more friends you can make.
And when they do this, they become more open, especially if there are no cameras.
If only five people in the world could be saved from a world disaster, who should they be
If they didn’t know about it, they could find themselves saying more abut themselves than they wanted to.
