3. 时间状语词: at 5:00 yesterday afternoon,
at that time, then 等连用, 或者用另一动 作来表示过去的时间。如:
过去进行时
They were playing basketball when it began to rain heavily.
While they were playing basketball, it began to rain heavily.
过去进行时着重描述当时正在持续进行的动作,它的特点是:暂时,持续和未完成,强调过程;一般过去时表示发生过的动作或存在的状态,即表示动作发生过,而且已经结束了,强调结果。
过去进行时与一般过去时的区别
过去进行时侧重表示动作延长的时间长度; 一般过去时表示过去某时发生过某事,侧重说明事实。

Step 1 Revision Revise the passage in 2b. Ask some comprehension questions about the passage. Revise the useful expressions in the passage. Students try to answer questions according to the passage.
