教学思路
本课的教学内容是人教版八年级英语下册第三单元Unit 3 Could you please clean your room (Section B 2a-2e)的第四课时。本课的主要内容就是阅读教学,它不仅包括语言知识的学习,还有阅读能力的提高,同时它还承载着培养学生正确的情感态度,价值观等深层意义。用问题“你在家做家务吗?你认为青少年应该帮助做家务吗?”激发学生的阅读兴趣,再让学生了解本单元的阅读策略,并在阅读中运用,最后通过问题检验学生对文章的理解。让学生了解对同一事物人们会有不同的看法,学会全面地看待事物;而且能够运用所学的知识表达自己的观点。
教学过程
Guessing game
Show pictures and get them to guess: What chores do they do
(设计意图:猜测游戏一方面是为了课前热身,激发学生的学习积极性,另一方面,复习之前学过的家务活,为本课的顺利进行奠定良好的基础。)

(设计意图:检查学生的预习情况,同时为阅读扫清障碍。我校实行自然分材教学实验,主要是培养学生的自学能力,课前预习的目的也在于培养学生自主学习的好习惯。)

自学方法1:Skim(快速阅读) the letters and find their ideas.

(Skimming 意为“快速掠过’取出读物中关键性的东西。因此,我们可以把这种读法理解为快速浏览课文,领会文章大意。对文章的首句和末句要多加注意,以便发现作者的观点。)
(设计意图:给出阅读方法,让学生进行运用。教会学生快速浏览找出关键句。)
2. Read the first letter and underline the sentences that support Ms. Miller's ideas.(读第一封信并且划出支持Ms. Miller的观点的句子)
自学检测(Fill in the blanks.)

(环节2和3设计意图:细读课文,要求学生在两封信中划出两人对待孩子做家务的不同观点以及支持他们观点的句子,并要求其大声朗读。这样做的目的在于一方面训练学生对文中信息的筛选、判断及归纳能力,另一方面,设计两个任务可以将文中的生词及语言难点分散学习,降低语言给学生带来的阅读障碍。)

四、讲解释疑
1)In order to + v ,“目的是、 为了”可放句中,也可放句首,否定形式in order not to. In order to + v 可与“in order that +从句”进行同义句转换。

(设计意图:拓展学生的知识面的同时通过练习巩固所学知识。每个知识点都配有练习题,旨在提高学生运用所学知识解决问题的能力。)
五、拓展阅读(阅读策略指导:注意文章的开头和结尾。猜词义根据上下文的意思来判断。)
Should we teenagers help our parents do chores Is it important for us to learn how to do chores I think so. Most of the teenagers like us student s are the only children in each family. So our parents love us very much. They do everything for us and don't want us to do any housework. I think it's bad for us.
Here is a real story.
I have a friend named Liu Ning. She is the only child in her family. Her parents love her so much that they don't let her do any chores. Every day she only gets up ,has meals, goes to school, comes home, does homework and goes to bed. So she doesn't know how to do chores. One day, her father was badly ill and had an operation in a hospital. Her mother had to take care of her father in the hospital and couldn't cook the dishes for her. Liu Ning didn't know how to cook the meals. She often felt hungry. Later she even ate instant noodles only for her meals. From the story we know it's important for us to learn to do chores and other skills from now on.
