一、定义
1. 表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态，常和表示过去的时间状语连用，如yesterday,last night,in 1990,two days ago等。
e.g He got up at 6 o'clock yesterday.
2. 表示过去经常或反复发生的动作,常和often, alway等频率副词连用。
e.g He always went to work by bus last year.

（2）实义动词的过去式：
①一般在词尾加 -ed。
例如：play—played； clean—cleaned

再加-ed。
例如： study—studied； worry—worried
④末尾只有一个辅音字母的重读闭音节单词，先 双写这个辅音字母，再加-ed。

一般过去时的句型
1) 肯定句：①be动词（am / is→was, are → were）
②实义动词要用过去式
2) 否定句：①was not(wasn’t)或were not(weren’t);
②实义动词 didn’t do
e.g. 1. I was a student. (改为否定句)

2. I watched TV every day.(改为否定句)
I didn’t watch TV yesterday.
3) 一般疑问句：
①有be动词的be动词放于句首
②实义动词要借助did
e.g. 改为一般疑问句
