The Simple Past Tense
一般过去时的用法
1.表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态。
常和以下表示过去的时间连用。
①yesterday昨天, the day before yesterday前天
②last系列:last week / year / month / term上周/去年/上个月/上学期
③ ago系列:two hours ago, three years ago, a moment ago两小时前/三年前/刚才
④in / on + 过去的年/月/日，如 in 2016, in April, 2005
⑤just now刚才, once upon a time从前, one day一天
He got up at 6:30 yesterday.
I was in Grade Eight last year.
2. 表示过去经常或反复发生的动作。
常和频度副词always, usually,often, sometimes, never连用
He always went to work by bus last year.
一般过去时的结构
1.be 动词（was/were）
2.实义动词(过去式)
am/is
are
He was born in 1996.
I was in Grade 8 last year.
1. 含有be动词的一般过去时
( 1 )肯定句：主语+was/were+其他。
The strawberries were good.
去年我在八年级。
他出生于1996年。
草莓好吃。
I was not in Grade 8 last year.
wasn’t
I was in Grade 8 last year.
He was born in 1996.
He was not born in 1996.

（2）否定句：主语+was/were+not+其他。

（3）一般疑问句句: Was/Were+主语+其他
Yes,主语+was/were./No,主语+wasn’t/weren’t.

（4）特殊疑问句:特殊疑问词+was/were+主语+其他
The food was really good.

2.实义动词的句型
（1）肯定句
主语+实义动词过去式+其他.
上周末我为英语考试而学习。
I studied for an English test last weekend.
他去北京度假了。
He went to Beijing on vacation.
她和她同学一起去的。
She went with her classmates.
（2）否定句
主语+didn’t 实义动词原形+其他.
He went to Beijing on vacation.
She went with her classmates.
I didn’t study for an English test last weekend.
He didn’t go to Beijing on vacation.
She didn’t go with her classmates.
I studied for an English test last weekend.
（3）一般疑问句
Did +主语+实义动词原形+其他？
Yes,主语+did./No,主语+didn’t.
I studied for an English test last weekend.
He went to Beijing on vacation.
She went with her classmates.
Did you study for an English test last weekend
Yes,I did./No,I didn’t.
Did he go to Beijing on vacation？

（4)特殊疑问句
疑问词+did+主语+实义动词原形+其他？
I studied for an English test last weekend.

动词过去式的构成
1.规则动词过去式
（1）一般在动词原形末尾直接加上-ed。
play--played climb-climbed
watch--watched visit--visited
（2）以不发音的字母e结尾的动词，加-d。
live--lived like--liked
hope--hoped use--used
(3)末尾只有一个辅音字母的重读闭音节（辅元辅结构），先双写这个辅音字母，再加-ed。
stop--stopped drop--dropped(落下，减少)
(4)末尾是辅音字母+y结尾的动词，先变y为i，然后再加-ed。

2.不规则动词的过去式需特殊记忆。
