Exercise helps to keep us in good health. Many people have an exercise routine. They exercise for a few minutes every day or every other day. Getting basic exercise is easy.
But what about those times when you are sick If you do not feel well, should you keep following your exercise routine Will physical activity help you to feel better more quickly or will it make the healing process longer
Edward R. Laskowski is a doctor. He notes that “Proper physical activity is usually OK if you have a common cold.”
Dr. Laskowski and other experts have a general rule about exercising when you are sick. It is usually fine to exercise,he explains,if your symptoms (症状) are all “above the neck”. These signs may include a runny (流年涕的) nose, nasal congestion (鼻塞) , sneezing or a minor (轻微的) sore throat.
In fact, Laskowski adds that exercise may make you feel better and help you to breathe more easily.
The American health website WebMD offers similar advice.
Geralyn Coopersmith is a physical fitness trainer who has written several books on exercise and nutrition. Coopersmith told WebMD.”The general rule is that if you take some medicine and don’t feel so sick ,it’s OK to work out.
However, both Coopersmith and Dr. Laskowski suggest taking a break from exercising if signs of your illness appear “below the neck”. Be careful about symptoms such as extreme coughs or pain in the stomach.
If you don’t feel too bad, these experts both suggest cutting back on the intensity (强度) of your exercise routine. For example, if you usually run, take a quick walk instead.

There are many ways to help improve your health like eating healthy food. Taking exercise and getting medical help. But the easiest and cheapest way to improve your health is just to sleep eight hours or more every night. The general sleeping rule is that the younger you are, the longer sleep you need. But regardless of(不管)age, some people need to sleep more while for some a few hours is enough.
The problem with sleep is that more and more people in the world are not sleeping enough. According to the World Health Organization over half the people in the world may be sleep-deprived. Having less sleep not only makes people feel tired but also causes accidents. In the United States alone, sleepy drivers cause at least 100,000 traffic accidents a year. Also sleep problems can cause medical problems such as high blood pressure(血压).
Why are so many people sleep-deprived Part of the reasons may be cultural. In the American culture, people put a higher value on work than on sleep. In fact, people who sleep a lot are usually seen as “lazy”. Also, you can sometimes hear some people say proudly that they don’t have much time to sleep. they only sleep four or five hours a night. It seems that the less you sleep, the more work you’ll do.
How do we teach these people to learn the value of sleep Perhaps they may listen to the advice of Dr. James Maas an expert (专家) in sleep. He says , “Sleep is like a credit (信用卡) card. When you sleep less. you are only borrowing time. You always have to pay it back. The more hours you don’t sleep, the more hours you should t sleep to ‘pay back’ the hours on your ‘sleep credit card.’”
For those who value work more than sleep, they should listen to what a famous person once said. “Don’t think you will be doing less work because you sleep during the night. That is a foolish(愚蠢的) idea which is held by people who have no imagination. You will be able to do more.”

Self-protection is one of the most important skills for teenagers. But how do I protect myself and grow up healthily Now let me share my experiences and ideas with you.
First, I always obey the traffic rules and I never run the red light. When the traffic light is red, I won't go until it turns green. I always cross the zebra crossing because it's safe. Second, I often eat healthily and safely. It's important to eat more fruit and vegetables. Eating too much fast food will do harm to my body. Third, I never meet strangers alone, especially friends who I make on the Internet. At the same time if we are true friends, we should help each other.
What's more, I'd like to give you some advice. Now winter is coming. It's dangerous for us to skate on the river or lake. So don't do that.
In short, if we obey the rules and take care of ourselves, we will grow up safely and healthily.
