【Passage A】
Ailee Goo, the Olympic champion, falls in love with fear. She has taken the time to dive into it .“If you’re nervous for your exam and then suddenly you do well, you’re a lot more excited than if you went in knowing you’re going to do well. It’s not really surprised because you worked for it. ”said Ailee. Being a little nervous will help you perform at your best. However, if your pre-test or during-test stress becomes so terrible that it makes your performance worse, you are probably experiencing test anxiety.
Test anxiety is a mixture of emotions such as worry and fear. Experts say test anxiety results from fear of failure, not having enough preparation and poor testing history. So, how can you get over test anxiety Here are some tips to help.
Be prepared. Make sure you are fully prepared next time you take a test. This includes going over your notes carefully, getting a good night's sleep, and getting to class early.
Slow your breathing. Try breathing in deeply through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. This will slow your breathing and help to control your heart rate.
Laugh more. Laughter is a natural medicine that can improve your mood and reduce stress. Try watching funny videos or listening to jokes the next time you're feeling stressed.
Listen to music. Music has a great power to change your mood. Before a test, try listening to light music to calm yourself down.
Talk to a counselor. A counselor from your school's health center could help you better understand your test anxiety and could offer tools to transform it.

Want to Be Positive (积极的)?
Ailee Goo, the Olympic champion, falls in love with fear. It’s not really surprised because you worked for it. ”said Ailee. Being a little nervous will help you perform better. As you know, it is a different experience between being around positive people and negative (消 极的)ones. If you want to be more positive yourself, here are ways you can do so.
Failure is part of learning.
Positive people regard failure as a chance to learn and get better. They understand that failure is just an event and that it doesn’t decide who they are. Negative people are disabled by failure because they allow it to decide who they are. They fail to understand that it's part of the learning and growing process.
I can do hard things.
Positive people love to be challenged. They understand that there is no growth without hard work. Positive people welcome difficulties, and look for ways to overcome them. Negative people love the easy road. Because difficulties increase the possibility of failure, they try to avoid them. To negative people, hard times don't make you. Instead, they break you.
I still have a lot to learn.
Positive people love to learn. They understand information improves, and that what used to work 10 years ago might not be useful today. Negative people believe they know everything, and are less likely to welcome new information if it is different from what they believe. They care less about what's right, and more about who’s right.

一、教学背景

教学内容分析 本课时围绕“情绪与情感”话题将听力素材、阅读篇章进行整合,听力素材为“奥运冠军谷爱凌”的自述,表达她对“恐惧”的好奇与着迷;两篇阅读篇章分别以“考试焦虑(test anxiety)”、“乐观生活(be positive)”为主题,在阐述面对压力前提下,皆提供了贴合学生生活的实用建议。
学情分析 本班学生英语学习能力较好,基础扎实;学生较为积极,课堂氛围活跃。相比之下,女生的英语学习能力比男生更突出。因此,在课堂阅读训练环节,将难度较大的语篇(passage A)布置给女生组。男生在平时学习训练中,较为粗心,在“回答问题”题型上,容易在时态、人称的数细节考察上犯错误。故将“回答问题”语篇(passage B)布置给男生组。 从内容上看,学生较为熟悉各种情绪、感受的英文表达,且话题恰好迎合初三学子进入“百日冲刺”紧张备考生活实际,语言得以运用到实际。从语法上,本班学生已完成“祈使句”、“复合句”等专题复习,也为句型产出提供了知识储备。
整体设计思路 本节课以“听读”促“写”,教学任务为“调节压力,笑对生活”话题写作。为了达成这一目标,本课以“词汇—句子—篇章”梯度推进,最终完成话题写作产出。考虑到教学对象为初三学生,素材整合“对靶中考”,将话题相关的听力素材、阅读篇章进行整合,体现为“听取信息”、“阅读理解”、“回答问题”;以“information gap”理论为支撑,男女生分组完成不同的任务,完成任务后进行信息交换;从视、听、说、读多模态带领学生学习、内化篇章表达,一步步为写作做足铺垫。学生在完成写作任务后,引导学生树立信心,乐观生活。
教学目标 语言能力: 1.能掌握情绪与感受话题相关的词汇表达; 2.能听懂、读懂话题相关的篇章,并获取基本信息; 学习能力: 1. 能从听力、语篇训练中获取、挖掘有效信息并应用到写作中; 思维品质: 1.通过小组合作进行信息筛选、选择性取舍,培养批判性思维; 2.能够思考常见导致压力的原因,正面看待压力并给出建议。
教学重点 将听力素材、阅读篇章中表达运用到写作中。
教学难点 将信息进行有效整合,分组学习,“缝合信息差”,以开展写作。
