课标内容解读 一、课标摘录居住环境、世界与环境属于课标话题项目表中的第3和21项。根据课标要求,五级语言技能目标在阅读能力方面要求达到:能根据不同的阅读目的运用简单的阅读策略获取信息。而五级语言知识目标对于具体话题的要求为:围绕所列话题恰当理解与运用相关的表达形式。二、课标分解居住环境、世界与环境是课标话题中学生较为熟悉的项目,九年级学生拥有一定的相关话题知识储备。居住环境包括①房屋与住所、②居室、③家具和家庭用品、④社区等;世界与环境包括①国家与民族、②环境保护、③人口等。因此在本话题阅读中,学生应该能运用略读、扫读、猜测词义、理解大意等策略完成不同的阅读任务;在话题表达上,学生能调动已有的词汇,并结合本节课新输入的表达,从词汇到短语到句型选择准确表达形式,最终进行完整的话题讨论。
教材分析 本节课是话题复习课,复习“环境“这一相关的内容。本话题的内容主要出现在八年级到九年级,分别是八上Module 2 My home town and my country、八上Module 9 Population、九上Module 10 Australia、九上Module 12 Save our world和九下Module 3 Life now and then,主要围绕居住环境、世界与环境为题材开展。环境保护与每个人的日常生活和健康都有着紧密的联系。因此,本课选取环境保护这一子话题,进一步巩固和运用有关的重要语言知识和技能,鼓励学生成为环保小卫士,提出有建设性的、可行的环保建议。
学情分析 本节课的教学对象为九年级的学生,他们在七八年级都学习了关于“环境”的词汇和句型,但是他们的这些词句是零散的,没有进行系统地归纳。另外,学生的语言综合运用能力较为薄弱。因此,需要学生以环境问题---环境问题产生的原因---环保建议为主线,运用相关的思维导图,采用分类法、归纳法和思维发散法,分类归纳相关的词语与句子,通过进行阅读和读写综合达到以读促写的目的。在复习过程钟,充分发挥学生的主体能动性,采用个人自学和小组合作相结合的方式完成学习任务,实现多项语言技能的综合运用。
教学目标 一、语言能力:1. 巩固并回顾关于“环境”的词组和句子;2. 说出一些环境问题,并找出这些问题产生的原因;3. 能给出一些环境保护的建议。二、学习能力:1. 在语篇中获取关键信息,推断出文章的句子含义和主旨大意;2. 通过上下文推断出生词的意思;3. 根据主线进行小组讨论,提出有价值的建议,为写作任务做准备。三、思维品质:1. 通过思维导图,分类归纳与“环境”相关的词语,提升思维的灵活性和发散性;2. 通过阅读推理,整合环境问题的信息,提高思维的系统性和批判性;3. 通过小组讨论,思考环境保护的方法,提升思维的创造性和逻辑性。四、文化品格:1. 了解环境问题以及引起的原因,提高环境保护意识;2. 提高保护环境的自觉性,增强宣传环保意识的责任感。

If the world takes immediate action to reduce the use of plastic, there will be still about 710 million metric tons(公吨) of plastic that will pollute the environment by 2040, new research has found.
The study, from a group and published in the magazine Science, found that even in the best situation where pollution is reduced by 80% by 2040, there will be still a lot of plastic in the world .
Millions of tons of plastic enter the oceans every year, polluting the seas, littering beaches and endangering wildlife. Pieces of plastic have been found in soil, in the air and even in the farthest area, such as Antarctica(南极洲). They are also eaten by fish. As a result, they enter the food chain(食物链).
A quick growth in plastic production is influenced by a rise in single-use plastic. What’s worse, “throw-away ” culture has made the problem become more severe, the report said. At the same time, waste management systems in countries around the world are unable to safely deal with or recycle plastic waste.
The team found that there are no quick ways to reduce global plastic pollution. Instead, change is needed across the whole supply chain---from the production of plastic, to pre-consumption(消费前) and after use to stop the spread of plastic pollution into the environment.
One key finding of the study is that waste mismanagement wasn’t from the problem of the spaces or ways to deal with waste, but from the waste collection. “There are billions of people without collection services right now. You can’t deal with something you haven’t collected,” said Dr. Winnie Lau.
The team noted that in many middle–income countries, such as India, waste pickers made a living from collecting plastic and their work was a key part of being able to solve this collection problem. It will be a useful way to cut down the waste of plastic.

It has a strong influence on our daily life. People have found a way to protect themselves by wearing face masks. We must wear masks anywhere in public. But the masks are one-time items. This means that we need to discard them after one or two uses. The world has seen wasted masks all over the streets and filling up rubbish bins.
Experts have pointed out that the materials used in masks are difficult to degrade (降解). It will take at least 100 years for them to degrade naturally. Environmentalists become quite worried because a countless number of wasted masks have ended up in the sea! They are polluting the sea! The sea animals suffer a lot and so do we humans. If the sea animals eat them by mistake, the rubbish will be hard to digest (消化) and stay in their stomachs forever. The bacteria on the masks may kill them too. They will not only largely influence the ecological balance (生态平衡) of the sea, but also can spread some more dangerous illnesses. People will also leave these harmful things in their own bodies and may become ill when eating these sea animals.
In general, the harm of wasted masks to the sea is serious, so we must take action to stop it right now. We should leave them in a safe place and find a wise way to recycle them.
