Strawberries look nice, but a light pressure can make them out of shape. Nowadays, there are many young people who are just like strawberries. They easily break down when they face difficulties. They don’t know what to do when they are in trouble. They have a common name - strawberry kids.
Why are many students so easy to break down Parents and schools are a main reason. Parents do almost everything for them in their daily life, while schools care more about their grades instead of developing their personality(个性).
Liu Yue, 13, is from Fujian. His mom hardly criticizes him and he always feels good about
himself. When a teacher criticized him strictly, he felt surprised and sad. He began to doubt his ability.
Students should do something to make themselves mentally strong (意志坚强). An expert said, “When you are in trouble, don't ask for help too quickly. You should try to deal with problems first by yourself. I also advise you to take an active part in sports and social activities. That can make you mentally strong.”
Growing up is not just a happy process. Pains also go along with it. The most important thing is to face the pains bravely and learn from them.

Thanks to Earth, we have fresh air to breathe, clean water to drink and warm sunshine to enjoy. But it seems that we may have considered those things natural and haven't realized that our planet is getting “sick”. Now scientists have given us a warning.
More than 15,000 scientists around the world have written a letter to warn about environmental threats(威胁), the Washington Post reported.
Among those environmental challenges, climate change sits at the top. Global average temperatures have risen by more than 0.5℃ since 1992. A half-degree temperature rise is a big deal. It means that heat waves would last around a third longer and rainstorms would be about a third
more intense. The increase in sea levels would be much higher, according to NASA.
But this is not the only problem people are facing. It's getting harder to get fresh water. Ocean pollution has become serious. Since 1992, the human population has grown by 2 billion, while the populations of all other animals have dropped by nearly 30%.
Scientists say that we are experiencing the sixth mass extinction(物种大灭绝)in history. More than two-thirds of the world's wildlife could be gone by the end of the century if action isn't taken soon, according to the World Wildlife Fund.
However, we have made some progress by making the hole in the ozone layer ( 臭氧层)
smaller. That's because we gradually stopped using chemicals that can break down ozone.
This progress shows that we can make positive changes when we act decisively(果断地), the letter says.

A. 紧张的 B. 热情的 C. 强烈的

What can be done to slow down global warming. ( ) 44.What has happened since 1992
Global temperatures have risen by 1.5℃.
Another hole has appeared in the ozone layer.
About a third of world’s animals have disappeared.
( )45.What was the writer’s purpose for writing this passage
To ask people to give thanks to Earth.
To help people do scientific research.
To call on people to protect our planet.

Since Beijing won the chance in 2015 to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, China has pushed for greater participation( 参与) in winter sports and made developing the ice and snow industry a priority (重中之重). 46.
In just a few years, China has become the fastest growing ski market in the world, with an ever increasing number of ski resorts(滑雪场)and ski visits. Chongli District of Zhangjiakou City, north China’s Hebei Province, is the largest high-end ski area in China and will stage most of the ski events at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. 47. Now there are seven with 162 kilometers of ski pistes(雪道).
Last winter, about 150 million people across the country joined in ice and snow sports. This
number has already reached half the goal for Beijing Winter Olympics, “to have 300 million people taking part in winter sports, or one in every five Chinese!”
As with many other fields, the COVID-19 epidemic ( 新型冠状病毒肺炎传染病) had an
influence on bookings. But they are supposed to pick up again this winter. 48. Between November 2019 and January 2020 the most popular places were: Harbin, Hailin Changchun, Shenyang and Mudanjiang. These northeastern cities, after years of work, have formed a mature(成熟的)winter tourism system. 49.
“Health” and “relaxation” were the main reasons for people to take part in ice and snow sports. And more than half of all ice and snow tourists were aged 20 to 40, they are major (主要的) people in the sports. Last year visitors came especially from southern China. 50.
