定语从句的含义:在复合句中作定语,修饰主句中的名词或代词的从句叫定语从句。
先行词:被定语从句修饰的词叫先行词。
关系词:引导定语从句的词叫关系词(引导词),分为关系代词和关系副词两种。关系代词有that,which,who,whom,whose等;关系副词有where,when,why等。关系词起连接作用,在定语从句中充当一定的成分,位于先行词和定语从句之间。本单元主要学习由关系代词引导的定语从句。关系代词在从句中作主语或宾语,作主语时,关系词不能省去,作宾语时,关系词可省去。
