(1)Do you have any other things for sale
for sale是“出售,待售”的意思。例:This house is for sale.这套房子待售。on sale是“廉价出售,上市”的意思。例:The style of furniture is not on sale in this shop.这款家具没有在这家店出售。
(2)You can do your homework while you ride your bike.
while是连词,引导时间状语从句,意思是“当……的时候,与……同时”。例:My mother was washing clothes while my father was watching TV.我妈妈在洗衣服的时候,我爸爸正在看电视。while还可以作名词,意思是“一会儿,一段时间”。例:Can I rest for a while 我能休息一会儿吗?
(3)I'm afraid I can't afford it.
①be afraid常用结构有:be afraid of+名词/代词,“害怕……”,例:Are you afraid of tiger 你怕老虎吗?be afraid to do sth.“害怕做某事”,例: He is afraid to meet me again.他害怕再见到我。
②afford通常与can/could/be able to连用,意思是“有足够的(金钱,时间)做……”。例:We can't afford to waste a single day.我们连一天也浪费不起。

宾语从句的用法:
连接词:宾语从句的连接词主要分为三种:连接代词that;疑问代词或疑问副词;从属连词if/whether。
跟在及物动词后的宾语从句:
①及物动词后面由that引导的宾语从句:
跟连接代词that引导宾语从句的动词有:agree、believe、decide、hear、hope、imagine、know、notice、say、see、think、wish等,that在从句中无词义,不充当句子充分。在口语和非正式文体中,连接代词that可以省略。
②及物动词后由疑问代词或疑问副词引导的宾语从句:
宾语从句中常用的疑问代词主要有what、which、who、whom、whose等,疑问副词主要为when、how、where、why等,疑问代词和疑问副词在句中起连接作用,作句子成分,各有自己的意义。
③及物动词后面有if/whether引导的宾语从句:
if/whether引导宾语从句时,意为“是否”。注意:与or not或动词不定式连用时,连接词通常使用whether而不用if。
宾语从句的时态:
①主句是一般现在时,从句可根据实际情况使用任何时态。
②主句是一般过去时,从句必须使用过去的某一时态
宾语从句的语序:
无论宾语从句的主语是陈述句还是疑问句,也无论从句用什么引导词,宾语从句一律用陈述句语序,即“引导词+主语+谓语+其他”。

环节2 新课学习
1.在学习课文之前,让学生思考教材第76页的“THINK ABOUT IT”的两个问题,然后和同桌进行分享交流。
2.教师让学生浏览教材第76页的邮件,了解其主旨大意。
3.教师让学生根据活动1的框架复述第一封邮件中的故事,然后教师邀请几名学生复述并予以点评。
4.教师让学生浏览活动2的三个问题,然后带着问题去阅读第二封邮件,把相关信息做好笔记并勾画出重点短语和句子,随后教师进行一一讲解。
5.教师邀请学生分享活动2的答案,最后教师订正答案。
6.教师让学生根据活动3的要求完成活动3的练习,教师邀请学生分享自己的答案,最后全班一起核对答案。
7.小组活动。教师将学生分成若干小组,然后在小组内谈论能做些什么来帮助另一所学校的学生(可以根据活动4的提示进行讨论)。
8.教师邀请每个小组的代表分享自己小组的成果,并予以点评。

(1)I sold out of my cookies in less than an hour!
①sell out为不及物词组,意思是“卖光”。例: Sleeping bags sold out almost immediately.睡袋几乎马上就卖光了。
②sell out of为及物词组,意思是“售空,卖光”。例:We have sold out of the books.我们的书卖完了。
(2)Everyone thinks it's too dangerous to do homework on a bicycle,so nobody bought it.
It's too dangerous to do sth.表示“做……太危险”,it是形式主语,真正的主语是后边的不定式短语。例:It's too dangerous to play on the street.在街上玩太危险了。

4.教师让学生根据文章内容完成活动1的练习,然后教师邀请学生朗读并试着翻译活动1的内容,最后全班一起核对答案。
5.教师让学生浏览活动2方框中的单词,并用这些单词完成活动2的五个句子。教师邀请五名学生分别说说自己的答案,并尝试翻译这些句子,最后全班一起核对答案。
6.让学生独立完成活动3的练习,然后教师邀请学生将自己连接好的完整句子读一读并说一说其意思,最后教师订正答案。

appreciate为动词,有很多含义。
①欣赏,赏识。例:We all appreciate her talent for music.我们都很欣赏她的音乐天赋。

(2)We were surprised to find that the farmer was so trusting.
①trust为动词,意思是“信任,信赖;依靠”。例:I trust him completely.我完全信任他。
②trust还可以作名词,意思是“信任,信赖”。例:I have no trust in him.我对他不信任。
③trusting作形容词,表示“容易相信他人的,轻信的”。例:He is a shy and trusting child.他是一个既害羞又容易相信别人的孩子。
