T:Look at the picture.I'm sure you all know that it is the Tian'anmen Square in Beijing.Today we will follow Jenny to have a look at some Beijing's famous places.

【辨析】clothing、cloth与clothes
①clothing表示“衣服”的总称,是一个不可数的集合名词。如要表示“一件衣服”,通常用 an article of clothing,有时也用a piece of/an item of clothing等。
②cloth表示“布,衣料”时,是不可数名词;表示用作某种特殊用途的布(如桌布、台布等)时,是可数名词。
③clothes表示“衣服”,是一个没有单数形式的复数名词,其前不用不定冠词、数词修饰,但可用 some、these、those、many、few等词修饰。

3.教师核对活动1的答案,然后对学生标记出的重要知识点和其他重难点进行一一讲解(教师可邀请学生试着翻译一些句式较为复杂的句子)。
4.教师让学生先读一读活动2的问题,然后快速从文章及对话中找到关键词句,完成练习。教师邀请学生分享自己的答案,最后订正答案。
5.教师让学生先理解活动3方框中单词的意思,然后独立完成填空练习,教师最后订正答案。

(1)Welcome to Xi'an—the Walled City.
①welcome to...意为“欢迎来到……”,to是介词,后面接名词或动名词。如:Welcome to our school.欢迎来到我们学校。
②walled是过去分词,作定语,表示被动含义,意为“被墙围绕着的”。如:The Palace Museum is a walled palace.故宫是一座被墙环绕着的宫殿。
(2)It is over 1 300 years old.
over作介词,意为“超过”,后接数词,相当于more than。如:There are over 10 people on the playground.有十几个人在操场上。
(3)I want to sit on one of the horses!
“one of+the+复数名词”意为“……之一”,该结构作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。如:This is one of the mistakes.这是其中的一处错误。
