①该句中,to keep us warm and cook food on为动词不定式短语,在句中作目的状语。
②keep us warm 是“keep+sb./sth.+adj.”结构,意为“使某人/某物处于某种状态”。例:Please keep the door open.请开着门。

①句中的“that's why...”为常用句型,意为“那是……的原因”,后面常接陈述句。例:That's why he was late.那就是他迟到的原因。
②a second表示“又一,再一”,当序数词与a/an连用时,并不表示顺序,而是用来强调在原来的基础上“再一,又一”。例:You need to do it a second time.你需要把这件事再做一遍。【拓展】“the+序数词”用于表示顺序,意为“第……”。

1.让学生浏览活动2a的几个句子,把握每个句子的关键词(即括号中的词〈组〉),为听力练习做好准备。
2.教师播放录音,学生完成听力练习。然后教师核对答案。
3.再次播放录音,学生完成活动2b的练习。教师核对完答案后,可适当向学生讲解在听录音过程中的听力小技巧。(如活动2a的听力练习,在听之前学生应注意括号中的关键词汇;在完成活动2b之前,可注意Carol、Jack和Becky三人的性别,这样在听的过程中可降低一定难度)
4.结对练习。将学生分成两人一组,运用特殊疑问词who、what和where,就2a、2b的内容进行对话练习。教师邀请两三名学生表演对话。

答句中的助动词did 指代的是上句提到的visited her grandma这个动作,以避免重复。本句中由于被指代的动词是一般过去式,所以助动词用did。若被指代的动词是一般现在式,则根据人称和数的不同用助动词do或does。例:—Who likes dancing?谁喜欢跳舞?—My sister does.我妹妹喜欢跳舞。
(2)Yeah, it was good, but I'm kind of tired now.
kind of有点,稍微,有几分。它主要用于修饰形容词或副词。例:The little girl is kind of shy.这个小女孩有点害羞。【拓展】a kind of一种;all kinds of各种各样的;different kinds of不同种类的。
