I.构成及用法：
过去进行时由“was / were +动词-ing”构成，表示在过去某一时刻或某一段时间正在进行的动作。
例：1. They were reading at this time yesterday.

过去进行时常和以下时间状语连用：
肯定句：
主语+ was/were+ V-ing+其他

否定句：
主语+ was/were+not+ V-ing+其他

V.过去进行时与一般过去时的主要区别:
过去进行时强调动作在过去“正在进行”；
一般过去时则强调动作“发生”在过去，
或状态在过去“存在”。
例：1.Tina was shopping with her mom at that time. (强调“正在购物”)
2.Tina shopped with her mom last night.
(强调发生了“购物”的动作)
3.Tina was tired last night. (强调过去的状态)
