1.让学生浏览“Think about it”中的问题,然后分小组讨论,并记录下自己小组的观点。教师让每个小组派一个代表来分享自己组的讨论结果,全班评选出最有代表性的事件和最合理的处理分歧的方法。
2.教师播放教材第98页课文的录音,学生边听边轻声跟读,了解对话大意。
3.让学生浏览教材第99页活动1的内容,明确需要回答的问题。然后再阅读一遍对话,回答这三个问题,并在对话中标明答案的出处。教师邀请三名学生来分享自己的答案,并给出理由。
4.让学生根据对话内容,完成下列表格。教师核对答案。

(1)Don't fight!
本句是一个否定祈使句。其结构为:Don't +动词原形+其他.例:Don't play football on the street.不要在街上踢足球。
【拓展】肯定祈使句的结构为:动词原形+其他.
(2)I tried calling you,but your phone was out of service.
①try doing sth.尝试做某事。它侧重尝试,看某种方法能否解决某方面的问题。
【拓展】try to do sth.尽力做某事。相当于try/do one's best to do sth.。
②be out of service不在服务区内。例:The phone you dial is out of service.您拨打的电话不在服务区内。
(3)Me neither!
Me neither.相当于Neither do I.意为“我也是。”它表示前面提到的否定情况也适用于后者,句子须用部分倒装结构。例:—Frank never plays computer games.弗兰克从来不玩电脑游戏。—Me neither./ Neither do I.我也不玩。

①raise money意为“筹钱;集资”。其中raise为及物动词,意为“筹集;提升;养育”,其过去式和过去分词均为raised。
②provide v.提供;供应;供给。它常和介词for或with搭配使用。常用短语:provide sth.for sb.= provide sb.with sth.为某人提供某物。
(2)连词and、but、or 和so
①and意为“和”,可以连接并列的词、短语或句子,表示并列、附加或递进的关系。例:The boy has a small nose and two big eyes.这个男孩长着一个小鼻子和两只大眼睛。My father is a worker and my mother is a nurse.我父亲是工人,我母亲是护士。Work hard and you will catch up with your classmates.=If you work hard,you will catch up with your classmates.努力学习,你就会赶上你的同学。
②but意为“可是,但是”,是表示转折关系的连词,用来连接两个意思相反或相对的词或句子,不能与though/although在同一句中使用。例:The bike is small but expensive.这辆自行车虽小,却很昂贵。I'm poor,but I always enjoy myself.=Though/Although I'm poor,I always enjoy myself.我很穷,但我总是过得很开心。
③or意为“或者,否则”,通常用在表示完全否定的句中,用来连接所列举的人或物,也可以用在选择疑问句中连接供选择的部分。例:You may do it yourself,or you can ask someone to help you.你可以自己做,你也可以请人来帮你。It has no eyes or ears.它没有眼睛和耳朵。How do you go there,by bus or by car?你如何去那里,乘公共汽车还是小汽车?Hurry up,or you will be late.=If you don't hurry up,you will be late.快点,否则你要迟到了。
④so意为“因此,所以”,可用来连接含有因果关系的两个简单句,不能与because在同一句中使用。例:This is our first lesson,so I don't know all your names.这是我们的第一节课,因此我不知道你们所有人的名字。

环节1 新课导入
Game:The teacher asks students to work in groups of three.one pretends to be the peacemaker and the other two pretend to be two friends who have a dispute,and come to the front and show their performance to the class.

环节2 新课学习
1.让学生小组讨论并回答“Think about it”中的两个问题,然后邀请学生分享自己的经历。

【注意】rather than连接两个名词或代词作主语时,谓语动词要和rather than前面的名词或代词在人称和数上保持一致。例:You rather than I are going to camp tomorrow.明天要去露营的是你而不是我。
