On New Year’s Day, many people eat special food for good luck.
In Spain（西班牙） and some Latin American countries（拉丁美洲国家），people eat twelve grapes （葡萄）at midnight（半夜） on New Year’s Eve—One grape for good luck in each month of the new year.
Chinese people eat dumplings. Some are made with a coin inside. Everyone tries to find the coin for good luck and money in the new year. Of course（当然） they don’t eat the coin（硬币）. I really love this job because I enjoy working with small children. I also think my work is very important. But there was a time when I thought I would never have a job like this.
I wasn’t the best student because I didn’t do much schoolwork. Just before I left school, I started thinking what I might do and found that there’s not much I could do. I thought I wasn’t that kind of person to have a career.
