George Bernard Shaw, Irish dramatist, literary critic, a socialist spokesman, and a leading figure in the 20th century theater. Shaw was a freethinker, defender of women’s rights, and advocate of equality of income. In 1925 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature. Shaw accepted the honor but refused the money . He was a very humorous playwright.

Pygmalion
This play by Bernard Shaw is
an adaptaion of a Greek story.
His wish is granted.
He asks the Greek Goddess to bring her to life.
Pygmalion, a gifted artist, makes a stone statue of a beautiful woman
Pygmalion, a gifted artist of Greece, disliked women.
One day he made a stone statue of a beautiful woman.
When he finished the statue, he fell in love with it. So he asked the Greek Goddess to bring her to life and make her wife.
His wish is granted. They two got married and lived happily ever after.
Pygmalion loves the girl so much that he decides to teach her how to speak and how to behave herself . Little by little , they understand each other well and live happily.
It is an adaptation of the
play “Pygmalion”.
It is a musical made in 1956.
It was filmed in 1964.
