Step 1 warming up
1. Show some pictures of the Chinese story.
2. 1a. Students enjoy the pictures and say the names of the four pictures in 1a.
Step 2 Presentation & talk
1. Show on the screen some pictures about Yu Gong .
Students talk something about Yu Gong.
Eg. Yu Gong was born in the Western Zhou Dynasty.
2. The reason why Yu Gong wanted to move the mountains was that there were two big mountains near his house and they were so big and high that it took a long time to walk to the other side.
Step 3 Listening (1b)
1. Get the students to listen and check the facts they hear.
2. Listen again and check the answer.
Step 4 Discussion (1c)
Discuss the questions in pairs first, then ask some pairs to make dialogues by asking and answering.
Step 5 Exercise
Step 6 Homework
Retell the story of “Yu Gong Moves a Mountain”.
