I.Teaching aims:

(2). Master the key sentences
Let `s see the lions.
Why do you want to see them
Why do you like them
Why don `t you like the cat
Because she is kind of boring.

(1). Students can learn to describe the animals ,express preferences and give reasons.
(2). Ask them to master the use of wh-questions.
(3). Develop students` listening and speaking skills.
3. Emotional aims:
Cultivate students` love for animals and ask students to protect them.

A tape recorder , multimedia player PPT .
V. Teaching procedures
Step 1. Warming-up
1).Daily greetings.
2).Play a song for students and let them guess what `s the name of it. Then lead into the new lesson.
Step 2.Presentation
1.Teaching new words (1a)
I will show some pictures to them to learn the new words one by one. And then finish 1a and check their answers.
2.Listening (1b)
Listen and check the animals you hear in 1a.
I will play the tape once and check their answers.
Answers: panda giraffe koala
Then practice their own dialogues according to 1b.
Maybe their dialogues like this:
S1: Let `s see the pandas this weekend.
S2: Why
S1:Because they are very cute.
S2: But I don `t like pandas . I like koalas best.
S1:Why do you want to see them
S2. Because…………….
Step 3. Consolidation and practicing.
1.Listening (2a&2b)
T: I want to see giraffes ,but I don `t know where they live. OK ,now let `s listen to 2a and 2b .Then we will know the answers.
Before playing tape .I will give students several minutes to read the material of this part. Then play the tape twice and check their answers.
2.Practicing (2c)
Give them several minutes to make their own dialogues according to 2a and 2b. Divide the whole class into several groups to tell us their dialogues ,and give them guidance.
Step 4. Emotional education.
To tell students to protect animals , because animals are our friends. We live in the same world. To love animals is to love ourselves.
Step 5. Summary
In this period, we have learned some words of animals` names and learned how to describe animals and express our feelings about them. Through the listening and speaking practice, we consolidate the knowledge.
Step 6.Exercises.

1).Write two groups of dialogues about this period.
2).Remember these new words and phrases in this part.
3).Preview the next period .
