Subject: Reading Interests
Recently a survey has been done to find out the reading interests of senior middle school students. In this survey, one thousand senior middle school students from ten schools in our Province were interviewed. They were asked which they liked reading most among the four categories of English: news, stories, popular science articles and articles about learning methods.
The survey shows that more than half of the students like to read news most. Twenty-six percent of the students say that English stories are their favorite. Only seven percent of the students are most interested in reading articles about learning methods. However, the number of students who enjoy reading popular science articles doubles that of those who prefer reading articles about learning methods.

Welcome to Baishan Mountain Hotel
Baishan Mountain Hotel is now open for business.
Our hotel stands 500 metres away from the entrance to Baishan Mountain. It has 20 single rooms and 15 double rooms, all with hot showers. A single room is 100 yuan and a double room 150 yuan for one night. You are advised to book in advance. The hotel serves three meals a day and there are Chinese food and Western food for you to choose from. You can also enjoy yourself at the cafe drinking tea or coffee in the evening. We also have a swimming pool, which is open all day and free of charge.

Recently a survey, whose topic is "Do you use shared bikes", has been conducted among the local people.
According to the survey, 70% of those asked gave a positive answer. As for the reasons, as high as 96% of them choose to use shared bikes for their convenience. The majority think riding shared bikes is cheap. Surprisingly, only around 31% consider riding as good exercise. Sadly, only a minority of the users, exactly 19%, turn to shared bikes as a way to reduce pollution.
By contrast, the other 30% said "No" to shared bikes. 70% of them refuse to use shared bikes for safety concern while the other 30% think it is uncomfortable to ride bikes because it may be too hot in summer and too cold in winter.
In my opinion, shared bikes are put there to be used. They can help us keep healthy and make the environment better as long as we use them properly and carefully.

Looking back upon my English learning path in the past years, I was filled with mixed feelings of joy and sorrow. Personally, the secret to learning English well is to develop a deep interest when you are learning English. In other words, I mean that you are supposed to be trapped in English when you are learning English so that you can get the points you want to get. There was a time when my thoughts wandered. Though I spent two hours in memorizing words of a unit, I didn't really grasp the words. But when I concentrate on the words, I just need 40 minutes or less to grasp the words of a unit.
To promote efficiency and address this challenge, I reflected on this matter. Nowadays, if I am going to do some reading, I will ask myself a question, "Are you ready to devote yourself to English now " If my answer is "no", I won't start the work as it is no use learning English without attention. In this way, I learn English for greater efficiency and my English has improved a lot.

Nowadays, some parents look into their children's school bags or read their diaries frequently, which makes their children fed up. People have been arguing about this topic for a long time.
On the other hand, others think it is because their parents care about them that they want to know their children and this may benefit their better development, although it may make a bad impression on them.
As far as I'm concerned, to have a heart-to-heart talk with parents should be a good measure to deal with this problem.
