一、教学目标
知识目标:

理解并掌握句型
1、Helen Keller became blind and deaf .
2、She couldn’t see and she couldn’t hear.
技能目标:
能够熟练运用 couldn’t, could谈论或询问某人过去的能力。
情感目标:
通过查阅海伦凯伦的资料,了解其生平经历,使学生对其精神感到敬佩,从而学习海伦积极进取,百折不挠,奉献自己的精神,激发学习的积极性。培养学生搜集资料的方法和热爱自然、热爱生活的美好情操。亲历过程,体验学习的乐趣。
二、教学重点:
学生能够用“could, couldn’t”来描述过去所具备和不具备的能力。三、教学难点:
学生能够流利地使用正确时态来描述自己的能力,能够复述Helen Keller的伟大事迹。
四、教学辅助工具:
多媒体,图片,眼罩,芭比娃娃,学生小时候的照片。五、教学过程 Step 1 [Warm up]
1、Greeting
T: Hello, boys and girls.
T: Welcome to our English class again.
2、出示婴儿的对比图片,让学生复习 can 和 could 以及can’t 和 couldn’t
Step 2 [ Lead in ]
指一名同学到讲台前面,老师捂住她的眼睛和耳朵。
T: Ok, this time, Can she see?Can she hear?
S: No, she can’t.
T: 出示海伦凯勒的图片,问学生:
Can you imagine a lady who couldn’t see, couldn’t hear and even couldn’t talk for almost the whole life Can you imagine how terrible life she had Do you want to know who she was Who is she?(课件)
S: 海伦凯勒.
T: She is Helen Keller .She is a famous people.
S: Yes.
Step 3 [ Presentation ]
1、T: All right, today, let’s learn about Helen Keller.(教师利用多媒体课件出示 Helen Keller生前的部分照片,播放课文的录音。)
T: Can you tell me who she was
S: Helen Keller.
2.通过让学生亲身感受,引出本课的人物 Helen Keller.
T: You are right. Thank you. It’s Helen Keller. She’s a great woman. She did many useful things.
3、再听录音回答问题(课件出示问题)
Question1:When was Helen born
Question2:Where was she born
指生回答问题,并利用点读笔读课文。
4、小组合作学习,并回答问题:
Question3:What couldn't she do Why
Question4:
Who helped Helen Keller and what did she learn (谁帮助了海伦并且她学习了什么)
S: Read in groups.
S: Read with deep feeling in different groups, boys read and girls read.(教师在这里引导学生小组内合作学习,阅读并讨论,回答问题让学生在练习中使用英语。)
4、T: listen and repeat.
(跟随点读笔,读课文,并出示要求,大量的口头练习和背诵可以使学生的嘴部肌肉更加发达,说起语言更加游刃有余。) (及时表扬和奖励学生,帮助他们增强学好英语的自信心。) .
Step4 [ Retell ]
1. T: Show some pictures about Helen Keller, and number the pictures.
2.Let's retell the story.指生给图片排序,然后复述课文,层层递进,锻炼孩子的口语表达能力以及对课文的理解能力。
3. Play a guessing game.出示几幅不同的图片,让学生猜一猜,他/她/它过去能做什么,不能做什么。
Step 5
[ Write ] 小组合作学习,(六人一小组,讨论并写一写你最熟悉的一个人,分享交流)以组的形式上台汇报交流。
Step 6 [ Consolidation ]
T: 出示海伦凯勒的图片,让学生感悟海伦凯勒的精神;出示中外名人照片---邰丽华,张海迪,桑兰、贝多芬、霍金等图片,让学生感悟他们身上的精神, (通过这些事例激励学生要像 Helen Keller、邰丽华、张海迪一样意志坚强,弃而不舍,关爱他人,同时珍惜现在的幸福生活,并学会感恩。)

T: Dear students, compare with Helen Keller, how happy and lucky we are! I think we should cherish what we have and do more useful things, let’s remember. "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it."
