In 2011, Bloomberg selected the World’s 10 Best Transit Poems. Here’s one of them:
To You
Walt Whitman
STRANGER! If you,
Passing, meet me, and desire to speak to me.
Why should you not speak to me
And why should I not speak to you
Poetry has always been a special way to communicate emotions. And usually, reading poetry is an activity done at home or in the library. But now, a new project has made poetry part of the daily lives of those who commute. Recently Shanghai Metro started the project —— Poetry on the Underground, in which commuters can read poems while travelling on the underground. This is similar to the project of the same name that has been running since 1986 in London.
Judith Chernaik, founder of London’s Poems on the Underground, said that the poems could be from great poets or unknown lovers of English poetry. In Chernaik’s view, these poems —— known as a wonder of the city —— aim to bring poetry to passengers, and show a wide range of styles. The styles may range from classical to contemporary, domestic to international.
Whether you love or hate poetry, this project “has proven to be an excellent way of introducing poetry, with passengers often wanting to read more”, according to the local government organization Transport for London.
The project also covers current events. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Londoner Michael Rosen wrote a poem to share his experience of 48-day intensive care earlier this year. The poem was shown on the London underground. “We had a very strong feeling that the times have been so difficult for everybody in all kinds of ways,” Chernaik told The Telegraph. “Although normal life is starting to resume, we all know it’s still very dangerous. We felt a strong sense of responsibility. We felt our poems needed to acknowledge the problem but also offer some hope.” Indeed, it’s often poems with love and reassurance that strike a chord (共鸣) with people.
Many have been posting lines from poems on the social networking platform Instagram. One post includes the lines “And you will find your feet / Again on fresh pastures of promise” from Time to be Slow by John O’Donohue. Another has the lines “Everything changes / We plant trees for those born later” from Cicely Herbert’s Everything Changes.
The project reminds us that even through troubled times, poetry reminds us we are human. The more reminders of that, the better.
24. Which of the following is true according to this text
A. To You by Walt Whitman was selected the best Transit Poem.
B. A cultured man must read a poem at home or in the library.
C. The new project in Shanghai resembles the one running in London.
D. Passengers can enjoy poems while traveling by bus in Shanghai.
25. What does Chernaik think of poems on the underground
A. Should be from famous poets B. Can take on a variety of styles
C. are good at introducing poetry D. Can’t focus on problems but hope
26. What does the word “resume” underlined in paragraph 5 refer to
A. be stuck in difficulty B. be limited
C. go on D. end up
27. What would be the best title of the text
A. Sharing poetry with commuters B. A special way to communicate emotions
C. A new subject in Shanghai Metro D. London’s Poems on the Underground

Though it is not good for us to expose ourselves to sunlight for too long, allowing ourselves appropriate amount of exposure to sunlight gives us many benefits and affects us in a number of ways.
Without the sun, life would not have developed. It gives us energy and heats our world. The sun gives us light and thus in turn we are able to see the beautiful colors in our world. It makes us feel good when we feel the warmth of its rays on our shoulders. We store the energy from the sun to help build and heat our houses.
Without sunlight we would not be able to survive. Sunlight gives balance. All living things live in a food chain and at the beginning of the food chain conies the plant which absorbs sunlight and transforms light energy into chemical energy ,which will then be absorbed by another life to be turned into a new kind of energy and so on.
One of the benefits that we can get from sunlight is that we can receive vitamin D from sunlight. It helps us to keep a healthy body, control the amount of minerals in the body, which is needed to help keep our bones and teeth in good condition and helps to keep a well-balanced mind.
Different places on the earth receive varying degrees of sunlight, which will decide the region's climate. For example, the farther away it is from the equator (赤道),the sharper the angle of the sun's rays that reach it, which means that sunlight coverage will be more spread out, and receive less heat than lower latitude(纬度)areas nearer the equator.
28.Why does sunlight give balance

C.It helps to form new lives. D.It helps to protect new lives.

A.Which place is the hottest. B.How sunlight affects the climate.

C.Benefits of Sunlight on the World D.Making Full Use of Sunlight

China's hot word, tuhao, may be in Oxford English Dictionary.
In Chinese, tu means rude and hao means rich. In recent years, people use this term to describe those who spend money in an unreasonable way. The word became more popular with Apple's gold-colored iPhone, which is loved by China’s rich people. The color became known as “tuhao golden”. The word is now often used to refer to people who have money but lack taste.

Social Media Detox
January 22, 2021
By Li Hua
With the development of science and technology, there appear an increasing number of social media apps. Many teenagers are addicted to the colorful apps, leading to a bad effect on our life. The activity social media detox aims to raise the awareness of stepping away from social media, and also improve the ability to control ourselves.
Here are some of my suggestions to do the detox. Firstly, you can give your phones to your parents to avoid giving in. In addition, it is a good idea to pick up some hobbies, which helps to spend less time online. What's more, you can visit your friends and have a proper conversation, realizing the value of real contact.
I really consider the activity makes a great difference to us teenagers. By staying away from the various social media apps, we can not only concentrate on studies, but also communicate more with people in reality.
