一、教学目标:
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词: smart beautiful lazy small friendly cute scary shy
2) 巩固why 引导的特殊疑问句及回答,熟练掌握what问句及回答:
A: What animals do you like B: I like …
A: Why B: Because they’re…
3) 通过听力训练提高学生们综合听说能力。
2. 能力目标:
1) 能会听说下列词汇: smart beautiful lazy small friendly cute scary shy 并记住它们。
2)能够谈论喜欢或不喜欢的动物,并能熟练运用下列句型:
A: What animals do you like B: I like …
A: Why B: Because they’re…
3)学会从听力材料中获取关键信息,提高听力能力和技巧。
情感目标:
(1)通过一些列的任务活动,鼓舞学生积极参与活动和积极学习英语,增加学生用英语表达的自信。
(2)通过学习,让学生看到动物的可爱和价值,学会保护动物。
二、教学重难点:
1. 教学重点:Words and phrases, target language
2. 教学难点: 熟练运用新旧单词和短语谈论自己和他人喜欢的动物,并说出喜欢的理由。

五、教学过程:
Ⅰ. Lead-in and revision
1.Greet the Ss as usual.
2.Play a song(video)---Animals to warm up, ask students:What animals can you see
3.Play a guessing game to review. Try to guess : What animals are they Show some pictures. Have the students guess one by one.

Ⅱ. Presentation
1. Show some pictures of animals on the big screen and ask: What do you think of the … It’s scary...
Have the students to describe the animals with different adjectives.
e.g. Show a picture of a monkey, let Ss know it's smart.

Ⅲ. Learning
1. Pay attention to the animals in the picture in 1a and ask a student to say the name of each one.
2. Point out the list of eight numbered adjectives below.
T: Now please match the adjectives with the animals in the picture. Write the letter of the animal on the line after the adjective. Point out the sample answer.
3. As students work, move around the room offering to answer questions as needed.
4. Correct the answers.

1. Test your memory,ask Ss to say out the words.
2. Ask Ss to describe animals by using these adjectives.

Work on 1b:
1. T: Now I will play a recording of a conversation between Tony and Mary. This time circle the adjectives you bear on the list for la.
2. Ss listen and try to circle the adjectives in 1a.
3. Play the recording again for the Ss to check the answers.

Work on 1c:
1. Call attention to the three headings. Animal, Mary's Words and Tony’s Words, and the write-on lines under each.
2. Say, Now I will play the recording again. This time please write the name of the animals each person talks about and the words they say.
3. Play the first four lines of recording and stop the tape. Ask, what animal are they talking about What words does Mary use to describe the elephant
Point out the write-on lines where students can write these words.
4. Play the whole recording and have students write the words they hear on the chart.
5. Check the answers.

Ⅵ. Pairwork
Work on 1d:
1. Call attention to the dialogue next to the picture. Ask two students to read it to the class.

3. Ss work in pairs to make their own conversations. As they work, move around the room checking on progress.
4. Ask some pairs to present their conversations to the class.

Ask Ss to read the descriptions and try to know what animal it is.

Give Ss some information about a kind of animal, ask them to describe it.
