It's easier to agree than disagree. The following tips (建议) can help keep disagreements constructive (建设性的).
Don't make it personal.
If you get upset, it can help to remember you're mad at the person's idea, not the person.
Never criticize the other person's idea.
Instead of saying “That's a stupid idea!”, try “I don't agree, and here's why.” Never shout loudly and you'll have a much better chance of getting your idea across.
Use “I” statements to communicate how you feel and what you think.
Using “you” statements can sound argumentative (好争论的).For example, telling your mom “You always remind me about my chores when I have a lot of homework.” has a very different tone (语气) from “I'm under pressure because I have a lot of homework tonight. Can I do those chores tomorrow?”
Listen to the other point of view.
When the other person is talking, try to stop thinking about why you disagree or what you'll say next.Instead, focus on what's being said. When it's your turn to talk, repeat some key points the other person made to show you have paid attention to what was said. Then calmly express why you disagree.
Stay calm.
This is the most important thing you can do to continue a conversation.
56. What should we do when the other person is talking according to the passage
A.Think about why we disagree.
B.Pay attention to what he's saying.
C.Think about what we'll say next.
D.Express our own ideas to him.
57. Which is the right way to show that you disagree with someone
A.I'm afraid I disagree with you.
B.Your idea sounds terrible.
C.You always ask me many questions.
D.Your idea is quite wrong.
58. If you want to continue a conversation, what's the most important thing you should do
A.Never criticize the other person's idea.
B.Use “I” statements to communicate.
C.Listen to the other point of view.
D.Keep calm.

My husband Shane and I were hanging out on the street one evening. I was talking but he was looking over at someone.
He walked over to a young girl who was crying. As he talked to her,I could see from his body language that he was trying to calm(使平静) her down. When I joined them,I realized that she had been homeless for some time. She told Shane that all she wanted was to go to her sister's house in another city.
Some people would have handed her some money or allowed her to make a call. Shane did much more. He said, “Kelly, I can't leave her here like this. Sometimes people need someone not only to help them but to believe they're telling the truth.”
It was a bit cold, so we had an idea to take her home. When I asked her if she'd like to go home with us, she thanked me about a million times with tears in her eyes.
We went home and I gave her some clean clothes to wear and told her she could use the shower. We ate something. Finally, she told us her story.

A long time ago, there was a little boy who liked making fun of other children. He never said “sorry” when he hurt others' feelings. He didn't have any friends because others all thought he was impolite.
One day, he saw a big tree in the forest when he was walking alone there. There was a sign on it. The sign said, “I am a magic tree. Say some magic words and you will see some magic.” The boy tried to guess the magic words. He tried abracadabra, and so on... He shouted aloud to the tree, “Open the door!” But none of them worked. Upset and tired, he threw himself on the ground and cried out, “It's too difficult. Please, dear tree!” To his surprise, a door opened at the bottom of the tree. Everything was dark inside, except for a sign which said, “Great! Carry on with your magic words.” He was so glad that he couldn't help saying, “Thank you for opening the door, dear tree!” With this, the inside of the tree became bright. A pathway (小道) leading to a room full of toys and chocolate appeared. The boy became excited. He brought many other kids to the magic tree, and told them about the story of magic words. They had a wonderful party there. Finally, the little boy realized the importance of the magic words like “sorry”, “please” and “thank you”.
