New Year   Chinese New Year is the important festival for Chinese people all over the world. It falls on the first day of the year. It marks the beginning of a year. People will plan what to do in the New Year. Because they believe that the whole year's work depends on a good start in spring.
Lantern Festival   It comes on the 15th of the first lunar (阴历) month and it marks the end of the Spring Festival. This day is always the first full moon in the new year. On this day, people often eat sweet dumplings(元宵)for good luck. Making sweet dumplings is like a game or an activity, and they are usually done happily by a group of friends or family members.
Qingming   It is also called Tomb Sweeping Day. It falls on April 4th or 5th. Tomb Sweeping Day has been observed(传承) by the Chinese for over 2,500 years. That is a special day for the living to show love and respect(尊重)to their dead friends or relatives. People often go to sweep the tomb and put the meat, wine in front of the tomb.
Mid AutumnFestival   It is on the 15th of the eighth lunar month. People would have a big dinner with their families. After dinner, they often enjoy the full moon which is round and bright. The other tradition of Mid Autumn Festival is eating mooncakes. Mooncakes are the essential of that day, which mean reunion.

Mr. Lee was in bed and was trying to go to sleep when he heard the bell ring. He turned on the light and looked at his clock. It was twelve o'clock. “Who can it be at this time of night?” he thought.
