一、教学目标:
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词:tiger, elephant, panda, lion, koala, giraffe, cute, lazy, smart, beautiful, scary, kind, kind of, Australia, South Africa,
2) 能掌握以下句型:
①Let’s see the … ②Do you like…
③ Why do you/ Why don’t you like… ④ Because they are ….
⑤Where are…from ⑥They are from….
2. 能力目标:
① To observe and describe animals.
② To talk about their preferences
3. 情感态度价值观目标:动物和人类都生活在同一地球上,动物是我们的朋友。我们人类应该与动物和谐相处,共同生存。我们应当学会关爱动物,保护动物。
二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点:1) 学会描述动物的性格及特点。2) 学会表达喜欢某类动物及说明喜欢的原因。
2. 教学难点:1)名词的复数形式表示一类事物;2)第三人称单数形式3) 能用英语谈论、描述自己熟悉的动物,以及表达自己对动物的喜爱并陈述原因。
教学准备:
教师准备:PPT
学生准备:1.了解一些常见动物的英文名。2.初步认识世界上一些国家的地理位置。
三、教学过程
Step1. Greetings
Step2.Lead-in
T:Before the class, let’s enjoy a beautiful song.(After listening) What’s it about Ss: The song is about pandas. Do you like pandas Do you like animals What animals do you know (Encourage them to say more words about animals.)
Step2 Presentation
①.Animals words
T: OK. Let’s meet some new friends. (Show some pictures about animals to teach new words) And then play a guessing game.(I’ll show them some sounds of animals, and some pictures about animals, please guess what animals they are)
② Work on 1a. Match the words with the animals in the picture
Step3. Listening 1b.
Listen and check the animals you hear.
Step4. New drill
1.Description words
T: From the listening ,we can know pandas are cute. Koalas are interesting. Giraffes are beautiful. What do you think other animals (Show some pictures about animals to teach description words: cute, smart, scary, friendly, shy, lazy, ugly…)
2.Drills
T:I like pandas because they’re cute. But I don’t like tigers because they’re scary.(Ask students what animals they like and why and what animals they don’t like and why)
Show the drills by asking three students.
A:Do you like…s B: Yes, I do./No, I don’t.
A:Why do you/don’t you like….s B: Because they are…
Step5. Pairwork

Step6. Presentation
New drills
T:From your pairwork I know most students like pandas. Do you want to know more about pandas (Show a map of the world) where are pandas from (Help them to answer with the map) Where are koalas from Where are lions from
Step7.Listening
Work on 2a and 2b. Check the answers by asking some ss.
Step8.Pairwork
Let them talk about the other two animals in 2a.
Step9.Play the second game
Read the descriptions about animals and guess what animals they are.
Step10.Exercises and writing
1.Finsh 3a(Page 30)
Check the answers together.
2.According to the information in the chart(见PPT) and write a passage about the animal.
Check the answers by asking some Ss to read their passage.
Step11.Play the last game

Remember the words about animals in this class
Make a new conversation about their own favorite animals.
