五、教学过程 (Teaching Procedures)
Ⅰ. Warming-up and lead in (3 minutes)
(设计意图:通过视频展示动物园的情景,使学生身临其境。)
Greet the students warmly.
Then play a video about many kinds of animals, then asking them questions: Do you like animals What animals have you seen in the zoo
Ⅱ. Presentation
New words teaching ( 5 minutes )
(设计意图:出示图片教授单词,学生更易于接受新知。)
Show the class some pictures of animals and present other animals. And ask them:
What’s this in English
It's a panda. (Then teach elephant, tiger, koala, and giraffe in the same way) Ss look at the pictures and try to remember the new words of the animals.
Guessing game ( 3 minutes )
(设计意图:用“看图猜词”的游戏充分调动学生的感官,激发学生的学习兴趣,并突破本课的重点单词的学习。)
T: Show some pictures on the big screen. Let Ss guess what animal it is, and remember the names of the animals.
Show yourself ( 3 minutes)
(设计意图:让学生表演,冲击视觉和听觉系统,以加深记忆印象,加快知识的接受速度。)
One student tries to act out or tells some things about a kind of animals, the other students try to guess what animal it is.
4. Finish 1a and let students read the words and say the answers.(2 minutes)
5. Watch and describe (2 minutes)
(设计意图:充分利用CAI辅助教学,以图文并茂的形式让学生轻松、自然地习得知识。)
T: Show some pictures of animals on the big screen. Ask students to describe the cartoon animals to learn the description words.
Pandas-cute giraffes-beautiful .Show some other pictures and describe.
Ⅲ. Listening Practice (4 minutes)
(设计意图:此环节在播放三遍听力的同时,即训练了学生的听说能力,也提高了学生捕捉听力细节的能力。)
Work on 1b.
Tell Ss to listen to the tape and check the animals they hear in 1a. Play the recording again and check the answers with the class.
Get Ss to listen and fill in the blanks, then correct the answers. Finally have Ss repeat each sentence according to the listening materials.
Ⅳ. Go on a trip (Pair work) (5 minutes)
Ask the students to imagine “We are in the zoo, there are many kinds of animals here.”
(设计意图:模拟真实情境,让学生描述自己喜欢的动物,并给出原因这一活动,使交流真切、实际,保证了语言交际的有效开展,体现了以学生为本的教育理念。)
Then ask a student to do the model with you:
— Let’s see the lions first.
—Why do you want to see them (Why do you /does she /does he like lions )
—Because they are interesting.
Let Ss work with their partners practice the conversation using the description words in 1c. The teacher can add more adjectives for Ss to learn.
V. Consolidation ( 8 minutes)
(设计意图:小组活动,目的在于培养学生把所学的知识运用于实际生活的能力。)
Group work : Ask the students to tell something about their lucky animals(吉祥物) and give your reasons, then choose one student to introduce as a guide. Work in group of four. Show an example that dubbed by teacher.
Hello, boys and girls. Now let me tell you something about my lucky animals. I like pandas best .Because they are friendly and lovely. They live in the forest. Most of them come from China. They like eating bamboo. Do you like them
Let some students introduce their lucky animals. Give them help if necessary.
VI. Emotional education (2 minutes)
(设计意图:通过本课时的学习,让学生看到动物的可爱之处和存在的价值,学生学会正确处理人与自然的关系,学会保护动物,旨在对学生进行情感教育)
Enjoy a video about human and animals. We can see that human can live happily with animals from the video. So animals are our friends. But we are losing our friends because some people are killing them. Guide students to cultivate the awareness of protecting the animals.

Sum up the target languages by a Micro-Course Online Video

VIII. Homework (1minutes)
Oral: Practice the conversations on Page 25.
Write: Try your best to describe what animals your family like and why
(设计意图:通过作业的方式,可以让学生在课后提高听说读写的能力,同时也有利于让学生养成良好的英语学习习惯。)

IX. Teaching Reflection (教后反思)
The students are interested in the animals, so they are active in class activities. But some students are still not active in class. Maybe they are afraid of making mistakes. I should arrange some activities that some students can finish easily. And the atmosphere in class is good. The students can cooperate with the teacher and master the target languages well.
