1.Ask the students:What do you usually do at weekends? Do you like watching TV? What TV programmes do you like watching?
2.Write down the names of TV programmes.
(such as; Lucky 52, Outlook, the Same Song, Happy China Trip, Animal world …)
1.Say to the Ss:
I like watching TV as well. And I like many TV programmes. Do you want to know what they are?
2.show some short videos about different TV programmes and let the Ss talk about their names. Then ask students to divide them into different groups.
3. Divide the Ss into some groups and let them have a discussion:
What’s your favourite TV programme?
Which TV programme do you like best?
I like … because…
My favourite TV programme is … because …
I don’t like/dislike … because …
4. Make a survey about your favourite programmes.

1. Show the Ss the pictures of Hobo and Eddie. let the Ss guess what they are doing and tell the reason.

1. Show the Ss some pictures of different TV programmes and ask:
What TV programme do you like best? Why?
2. Introduce some types of TV programmes and teach some new words:
◆News: I like watching news report because I can get a lot of up-to-date information. Sometimes I don’t have enough time, so I just listen to a weekly round-up of what is happening in the world.
◆Sport: Some of you like to watch sports. So I don’t think you want to miss some important games, for example, Asian Games and Olympic Games. We are so lucky to watch the 29th Olympic Games this year. Because it was held in summer, we could watch the games which were covered live. I believe everyone was deeply moved by the opening ceremony. It’s reported that more than 60 thousand people attended it. The Olympic Games cover all kinds of games. And after each game, we can watch a presentation. At the presentation, the results of the game are announced and the medals are presented to the winners.
◆Films: Many people like movies. And some Chinese movies won awards in the world for their stories, directors, music, etc. For example, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon directed by Li An won an Oscar for its wonderful photography.
3. Encourage the Ss to complete Part B1 on Page 66.
Tell the Ss that Millie is reading a TV guide online. She is reading about some of her classmates’ favourite TV programmes. Let the Ss read the text and complete the following form:

Ask two students to come to the front of the class and face to the class. Show some pictures of different TV programmes, let the students on seats describe them one by one and the two students in the front guess what TV programme each is.
