Unit3 Where did you go?
Part A Let’s learn教案
My topic is Unit3 Where did you go.My presentation can be divided into the following five aspects:analysis of teaching materials, analysis of students, teaching methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design.I will present them one by one.
Part one: Analysis of the teaching materials
This class is the period of section B,unit3,primary school English book6,PEP. This class is mainly about the present tense and the past tense. The students in grade six have already mastered some words about the place and the action. In the study of this unit, we focus on listening, speaking, reading, writing and so on . It’s closely related to Ss’ real life.So Ss can learn it easily and happily.
Based on the analysis of the teaching material ,I set up the following three objectives:
1.Knowledge objectives:Ss can write and say key words: rode a horse, rode a bike, went camping, went fishing, hurt my foot.
2.Ability objectives: Ss can use the sentence patterns: “Where did you go last Saturday / I went to a forest park. / What did you do there / I rode a…” Cultivate their ability of speaking and listening.
3.Emotion objectives:Increase the Ss’ interests and set up self-confidence in language study.
According to the new curriculum standard, the teaching key points
and difficult points are as follows:
Key and difficult points:
1.Key points: Ss can master the past tense and the present tense of these words.
2.Difficult points: Ss master the use of sentence pattern: “Where did you go / I went to a forest park. / What did you do there / I rode a…”in the real situation.
Part two: Analysis of the students
In order to make the Ss real master of the class,now I will analyze my Ss. Ss in Grade 6 have learn English for more than 3years.They have accumulated some basic English knowledge.They have curiosity about English and they are willing to speak English.They can do some actions under the teacher’s guidance,but they can’t use English flexibly.Their abstract thinking is still not fully mature;their image thinking occupies an important position in learning.Pupils are emulative and active ,and have strong collective sense of honor. I will take all these factors into consideration.
Part three: The teaching methods
In order to break through the key points and difficult points , task-based language method, situational teaching method and TPR method will be adopted to finish my teaching. These teaching methods will help attract Ss’ interest to the class.
Part four: Teaching procedures
Based on Ss’ physiological and characteristics,I design the following
teaching.
Step1.Warm-up
After daily greetings,I will show Ss some pictures and talk about:How was your weekend Where did you go What did you do last weekend This step helps Ss review what they have learnt last period.
Step2.Presentation
Ss will listen to the recording and try to finish some questions by themselves. I will check their answers.
I will show some pictures of John and teach these new phrases one by one:
I’ll show a picture of a bike and ask Ss :Did you come to school by bike Do you like riding a bike Then look at a picture of John. What did he do At last I teach the new phrase and the knowledge of past tense and present tense..

2.John rode a bike in a forest park but there was an accident during his cycling.Then I will teach :hurt my foot—hurt my foot
3.Play the sound of a horse. I’ll show a picture of John.Then I teach the new phrase: rode a horse—ride a horse
4.With a picture of fishing rod ,I teach the new phrase: went fishing—go fishing .I’m going fishing with John.He is good at fishing.He went fishing last Sunday.Let Ss know what is a gerund and gerund phrase.
5. With a picture of tent,I teach Ss what is a tent. Then I’ll tell Ss that John’s family went camping last Sunday.At last I teach the new phrase: went camping—go camping
When I teach these words ,I’ll have Ss read these words in different ways. I will correct their pronunciation.
Check the answers.
e. It’s time to play a game.Golden eyes
I will show some pictures of John and have the students guess what’s missing.
f. Pair work.
Have Ss ask and answer according to these words.Have Ss act out the dialogue.Thus Ss’ communicative skills will be improved.
Step3.Practice
1.It’s time to play a game between boys and girls.Classify the past tense and the present tense of these words those we have learned.
2.Introduce myself. I will show my pictures .

Step5.Summary
Ask Ss to sum up what they have learned today by themselves,have a chant and I will make an assessment.
Step6.Homework
a.Have Ss make a new dialogue and expand their ability.
b.Then do a survey.
Part five: Blackboard design
In order to make Ss remember the key points more easily ,I write the key words and sentence pattern on the blackboard.
